Well mine did just fine Growing down here in North Carolina Soil and they like a warmer climate as well!!! Much better than Jersey land.
Plus we have way more natural fertilizer than jersey land where most of the BS comes from the politicians.:D

40 years ago I was just a baby making my own fertilizer. Bud I have never heard of North Carolina tomatoes but Jersey Tomatoes are famous even over seas.
