I don’t have the biggest concern for going 100 or over. Moderate chop would be the average weather for me, I thought that crazy acceleration and the odd top speed day.
Really I am considering letting my Grandsport go, keep my 260 so the idea of getting a P22 and a second 260 was buzzing in my head �� love my Allison, but getting rid of my Gulfstream center console and Allison for a mix of both worlds in one boat would be easier to stay up on.
A Progression 22 with a 2.5 is a really, really sweet handling boat. (Ask me how I know that.) And with a 2.5 / 260, you're talking low to mid 80's.Quote:

A 300xs with a DBR tune and a smaller pitch prop will pull pretty hard though. When I run a 31-32 on my tuff it will run out of a turn and pull to 85-90 pretty hard.
Jim Umbarger put twin Chrysler 105's on 16 footer so I guess anything's possible, lol

So hypothetically if someone decided to go for it… what’s hall opinions with setup? Setback, prop choices, weight distribution? Be Interested to hear some opinions from 22P owners or others who have setup other boats similarly with twins.
4" jackplates, keeping the engines as close as you can to the transom. Some cleavers for stern lift, and a ballast tank up front.

All P22s have a center splash well, small for 25" motors and a larger one for 20" motors. If you want enough room for rigging the motors would have to be high enough to clear the transom because they would be outside of the splash well.
My P22 has a 12" setback, has the small well but I'm running a 20" motor. If there were twins on there a 4" jack plate wouldn't be enough.
