Thanks..might call and see if and how much..but always on a damn budget so hopefully I can come across some lol
Yea I have my mids but want to keep them for now..and not sure he'll take for cores anyway
Going to finally call to find out what years he will take for cores I have more 88-92 looper mids...hell just scraped a few mint 25" ones because I don't use them and cleaning out parts for room...but think he wants mid 90s up ??
Ronnie's failure rate on 2.4/2.5 stuff is zero, and a lot of his stuff gets run in the Great South Bay.
Ronnie only cuts the offshore mids. Cut bass mids WILL break, I don't care who cuts it! Ronnie also replaces all the bushings with custom oilite stuff. Really nice and will never wear out. There is a cap for the snout on the OS mid if you don't want the noise...
I agree with stock fishing can are prone to cracking due to thinner material even with the much required tabbing/reinforcement.
They do hold up better depending on water conditions your running, need to go into it with open mind of possibilities.
I have found that the 2.4 ridge back is the thinner of the OS cans but can surely be done with the proper method and will hold up.
2.5 245/260 do pretty well but the late style 280 can has the best casting.
BTW, the 2.4 Ridgeback is my favorite looking cut mid!!
Many names mentioned above are experience guys doing this which is very important for strength and proper alignment!.....JMPO!
Can’t be that hard to make a tube chassis inside the mid so the mid itself becomes just the covering and no longer takes the stress. The cost though.....
So easy, even a caveman could do it ..

While mounted in place ... going out the inlet ... Thanks to the new liquid-filled :)bubble levels which makes it all possible ..

Chaz, that's funny!....:smiletest: Those boats are even landing nice and soft, no pounding or loss of passengers......:D
I'm sure you can build the tube mid soooo pretty that it will not need or want anyone covering it up.......;)
Corsa made a Captains Choice for I/O's...
Ronnie does an "Old Guy Muffler Option"
