Did you ever figure out your top speed yet? I've got the 18' VT 180, with a 275 Rude on the back. Been fighting with it all year, but I've finally got the bugs out. Best so far is 78 with a 28 Raker.

Nope. Its been that kind of year for me. 4 broken boats. The stratos is waiting for me to put the carbs back together, the heads back on and an Oring replacement on the jack plate. It falls to the bottom in about 1 minute. And of course construction has been crazy busy, which is good but the boating has suffered severely.
But 78 seems pretty fast. I bought that new 26 Raker HO with the little adjustable air bleeder hole. but haven't tried it yet either.

I've got a CMC plate that does the same thing. Replaced all the O rings, and it still sags down. I wound up setting it where I wanted it, and drilled and bolted it at that height. I think I need more setback on my Stratos, I can't get the bow up high enough.
