Growing up in Rochester, NY we had a 3 digit phone #. No dial on the phone, pick up the handset, flash the cradle (bonus points for knowing what that means) & wait for the switchboard operator. Tell her the party you wanted so she could connect you. Moved to Miami in '57, had a phone with a dial on a party line (PLaza 4-5951). I was born when Ike was in Mamie.

Black & White tv in a metal cabinet that would give you a mild shock/tingle, if you were barefooted on the terrazzo floor. Or the tv repairman that made house calls? Waiting for the tubes in the tv to warm up before you could watch it, and tube radios in cars. Larry King getting his start on talk radio, doing the local overnight show on WIOD AM radio. And, according to his bio George Jetson was born last week! Used to ride our bikes up to Ivan Tors Studios & watch Flipper being filmed. Just ride right in the front gate, as long as we were quiet, nobody had a problem with it. Then go to Lum's for a hot dog after. Wonder how many kids today know what a church key is for, or a G.I. can opener? Rexall's drug store with a soda fountain or a bag boy at the grocery store that even carried the bags out to the car? I learned arithmetic (before it was called math in schools) on an abacus. $100 cars that you could drive off the used car lot. .25 cent cigarettes in a machine that held maybe 7 or 8 brands. Pay toilets and wooden phone booths or the little (6 oz?) Cokes for a nickle?Aurora HO slot cars? Hell, I'm 70 & I still fly balsa & tissue control line planes with Cox engines. Have a flathead valve spring compressor I bought new. How about knurling valve guides, or pistons also. Cast iron pistons with the oil ring below the wrist pin? Leather suspension bushings? Car owner's manual saying to change the oil filter
every other oil change, canister style oil filters; some bypass not full flow. Had a kid fresh out of the auto class at the Vo Tech ask me what the timing light in my tool box was for just a couple of years ago.....I still use a percolator you put on a stove burner when I go camping. Had that thing longer than my wife, & we've been married for 44 years. Best damn coffee ever!! I'm not digital, I might even predate analog.
This album came out in the mid 1960's, and it grabbed our young minds' attention and imagination.
And also the music was good too!

Eric Clapton (EC) showcasing the benefits of being a Rocker & Blues man.
This album is one of his albums that I musically like.

Yep!
1970 was at the crest of the 1960's pop art.
And some album covers were in that vogue.

The University of Miami's radio station was WBUS/FM, at midnight they switched from public broadcast stuff to rock all night . They called it the Magic Bus for that segment, the Who album made me remember. Only rock available in Miami back then. Everything else was AM top 40.
