Had to smile to myself——— Charlie Strang was one of the nicest chaps you could ever meet, funny how most of the top blokes worked for both camps——— OMC and MERCURY that is—— look down the list and it’s pretty impressive——— Strang, Leek, Hauenstien, Garbrecht, probably dozens more I don’t even know about.
Pruett had it about right——— he spent most of his spare time with his friends in the OMC camp——— when I asked him “how come” he was pretty caustic, Garbrecht don’t pick my friends was his answer.
I had some great times with the OMC tribe——— greatest shrimp bake I ever attended was OMC—— turned down the offer of a V8 drive, was way past it, had been retired too long——- wisest decision I ever made——— I’m still here !
Sucker that I am——- rain held off for an hour so I wandered down the booty——— about a quarter full, stallholders not wanting to spend A tenner If was going to be a “no go”——— Saturday looks good to go. Going to be brass monkey cold, but, what thehell, if it’s not snowing or raining ———- who cares .
Got stuck into the second “Concept” like a long dog——— once you’ve nailed one without problems, it’s amazing how brutal you can get with the second one ———— threw caution to the winds and cut straight to the chase. Result is, I managed to do in an afternoon what took me two days to achieve in the first one.
With no interruptions tomorrow should be well on the way to the finish line. Just have to decide———-ALEX AND ANI ——- or a poker run one off with all the bells and whistles!

The Irish wanted to win, had everything to gain and nothing to lose so played with pride and passion and conviction!
England thought the world owed them a living, Ireland were the underdogs and we usually give them a damn good thrashing.

Common sense is a commodity sadly lacking in both camps in my experience———- too many “EGOS “

Just does not seem possible my son Mark is 61 years old today—— been trying to get him on FaceTime but I guess the rest of the family want to celebrate with him too.
He has lots to celebrate today—— Finally made the big time—— he’s now right where he always wanted to be——- boat design and development.
Was always the same—- whenever anyone was in trouble or had a major problem——- send for Mark Wilson. Ask any of the big names in either circuit or offshore who always got ‘em out of trouble——- five will get you ten, the answers always the same—- Mark!
By the way———have to tell you ———- ALEX AND ANI is just looking the dogs cajones——- it’s a FECKIN masterpiece of a concept. I’m chuffed to buggery with it———— just might be my best hundred and something effort yet!

No, the trunk is not part of the display!
Damned white stuff is back again———c’mon, play the white man here, it’s nearly the third week in March and it’s nearly Easter——- crazy folk are seriously thinking of putting shorts on and wearing T shirts and that sort of thing——- time for snow to to bugger off into the long distance and that big warm ball to show its face again———- roll on some warm weather!
Never was able to get hold of Mark and wish him a happy birthday yesterday——- that’s the trouble with modern devices——- they run out of battery ever so easily!
Just a Swift visit to the surgery to give “Bloods”———- then try and get a dentist appointment—— the false tooth the plate hangs on came adrift and the whole shebang is clattering about in my mouth like a blown two stroke, so I need to get it fixed.
Apart from that, it’s all systems go. Another full day in the shop, starting with a big tidy up.
Well, cobbled the pair of drives together——— left ‘em ready for gearcases, if and when——- that’s still a positive maybe. Again they turned out top class———— funny how som concepts just come together smooth as silk and yet others fight you every step of the way for no reason whatsoever.
Took time out and had the royal juice removed for analytical purposes———- but couldn’t get a dental appointment————- teeth’ll Just have to clatter around in there awhile longer———- thought about super gluing the damn stump in there myself ——- but those blasted isocyanides dohave a bite to them when put next to raw flesh———- best to bite the bullet and let the dentist charge his four” pennorth “
I think the spring meeting at Tavares must be under way——— see the red bird is down there with the Boyds——— Rich and Doreen usually make the effort——— wonder why everyone kept schtum about it?—— I like to know what’s happening in the vintage world—— especially the people!

Don’t have any one coming ——- no visitors or appointments——— I’m a free and fit person for the foreseeable future.

Jackie, Tavares - Wooten Park is still recovering from the hurricane that destroyed all of their docks. The full compliment of docks isn't expected to be in place until early 2019. The CRA cancelled the 2018 March and November V&H events and indicated they no longer were going to do these. A new APBA Club has been formed and will hold the 2018 November event at Wooten Park. Will be any boats that can trailer launch. 2019 events will have crane and trailer launch.
On a new subject there may be reason for a new concept ? ! ? ! ? A class hydro (mid 70's)

Took time out to play grandpa Jack this afternoon——- we took Little Lizzie up to Gaston’s Farm in Swindon to witness the start of the lambing season. They also have chicks and ducklings. Took her for a ride in a Big green tractor. John Dere actually ( 6032 ) Attachment 402228
