Nearlly there——— just needs a bit of Dustin and it’ll be good as new!
Looks nice but old tech design so not uim f1 compliant i would say
Marks aiming to finally get his 50’ Superboat finished in time for Easter——— seven years in the making. There were times I’m sure, when he was filled with no confidence and wondering if it would ever be finished.
He has a factory full of projects——— OLD BLUE for starters——been two years in The pondering stages————- THE COSWORTH is another that’s been on hold for the last six years.———— all the while there was a living to make and a business to run.
Mind you, that particular craft of his, started life as a fast military craft with just about every piece of kit that could be installed fitted in there——— there’s not a boat at the Miami show with anything like the spec this one has.
Military boats tend to take forever and finish up nothing like the original———- this ones the exception, it has more features than any boat I’ve ever seen or heard of, and nothing has been left out.
Im sure I’ll be able to post you a few piccies of The finished article in the next few weeks.
Im actually very proud of my sons effort on this one!Attachment 398929
I know nothing Pilgrim———— would imagine it’s a “CHAMP” boat ——— with updates.
I can tell you, Timmy, Mark and Craig put a lot of hours bringing the mould up to date!
Having said that——- most Tunnel boats today are getting on for thirty years old.
Same way that all offshore boats are twenty five +years old———- and that’s a recent one!
Lets not go down that road——— I can get into trouble simply thinking about raceboats.
I asked Gary just how old “MISS GIECO” was———- it’s an undetermined age but around 25 years at a Guess,
looks like a case of IF ITS NOT BROKE, WHY FIX IT ,!
There was me thinking everything in the garage was lovely and all singing and dancing latest technology jazz——— turns out it’s the same old sh-t——- just a different day !
Have it on good authority there will be no Key West this year——— granddaughter Louise tells me entry fees, accommodation, and corporate entertaining tops $50000 each time.
James Shepard and Clive Curtis will be campaigning the Lizard this season——— seen the fixture list, but I’m buggered if I can remember where there at ! I know there are five confirmed dates.
P1 gets off to a flier with the opener in the Miami Marine Stadium ——- there maybe only 10 of of them to start off with, but there’s some close competition and a bunch of real boat racers slugging it out———— new composite boats have upped the speeds to near the 80 mph mark.
Another five venues which include Sarasota and Clearwater with TV coverage at all events——— if anyone wants to sponsor a boat, I’m sure they can accommodate you.
just spent an hour at the surgery this morning, with a session at Chichester hospital this afternoon .
having a heart monitor fitted. Goody gumdrops——-always wanted one of those things!
Bidding has hotted up for the Trusty Lexus——— it’s down to the last three days—— should really get exciting on Friday. Be nice if there were half a dozen folk keen to acquire it ?
OH MY, IF YOU COULD SEE ME NOW!
Got a hanging basket round my neck and a telephone exchange plugged in round my chest and the resultant wires hung in the basket! Bloody silly things I do for a giggle these days——— still, it’s not even inconvenient really——— though I’m not supposed to bath or shower with it all plugged in.
Damned if I wouldn’t stink like a poke of devils after no wash off EEE for five days.
Another bunch of statins to prop up the ones I’m already taking——- talk about rattling as I walk—— I sound like a hailstorm on a tin roof after taking them all. But. I woke up again this morning, so life is one ginormous bonus, and the new boating seasons nearly upon us, so it’s all heading in the right direction.
Getting comfortable before putting out the lights is a testing task——— can’t say I’m actually FEELING uncomfortable———— it’s the thought of making it through the night dressed in a wiring harness.
No long siloloquis tonight———swallowed some new wonder pills——-tell you tomorrow if they work or not!
In a word NO. At two o’clock this morning I was still looking for the elusive sandman and sleep was a million miles away. Good news is whatever pills were purveyed for the pain did work ——- was so surprised to be pain free I couldn’t sleep——- just can’t bloody win can I?
Just one day left on eBay before we wave a fond farewell to the beloved Lexus——— I would normally get the bucket and sponge out and given the old girl a birthday—— but those days are long gone.
If she needs a face wash, it’s usually a £7 wash and brush up by the Rumanians in Marks and Sparks car park whilst her majesty’s in there shopping.
Decided to call the professionals in——— turned up at 8am with a very posh 2018 white van emblazoned with WAXMAX .
CONFESS TO BEING INTRIGUED.
Occupant was a very happy individual by the name of Josh who willingly showed me the contents.
Only thing Josh needed me to supply was power. He had everything else on board, power washers, wet vacs, dry vacs, polishers, and all things to go with it.
He said “you got me for two hours” my reply went something like “ FECKIN Ironsides don’t charge that much an hour !——- but the damage was done—— Id already agreed and paid up front, I just bit the bullet.
One hour in and I must confess, the boys got a wriggle on——- he's cooking with butane !
Just takinghis coffee out—— get back to you.
Well now, here comes the rub. Only got forty minutes left to make a decent job of the interior!
You better move your arse a bit quicker then Josh, ‘cos if it’s it not done to my total satisfaction, I don’t sign the “me happy” chit!
Be really interesting to see how hot the vac gets over the next half hour.
Well chuffed with the exterior——— mag wheels look like new again and all the mildews gone from the wing mirrors and window rubbers which is the first time in years.
Will post you a couple of piccies today——- it’s worth taking a peek at the result.
One of the reasons for buying a new lexus was because it had a plug in for a puter connection, buggerme if I just haven’t found one in her——- never knew it was there.
Attachment 399054Attachment 399055Attachment 399057Attachment 399058Attachment 399059Attachment 399060
Well josh made a great job of the outside, but spent too much time on it. Consequently the interior never got even a half tidy job. He told me he would like another couple of hours, then he could do the interior perfect and wax the exterior taking out all the scratches.
Bet your sweet bippy he could———- that’s another £100 and it’s not even reached scrap value yet!
How-can you mend a broken heart ? Or stop the rain from falling down ?
It looks clean——- it smells clean——- and by golly——— it is clean. Runs like a Swiss clock and has never burnt a pint of oil.
Somebody somewhere, will love this old lady as much as me.
Just had an hour on FaceTime with Mark———— it’s all happening at WCC the Seebold is Paris bound and The safety cell is fully acceptable for Champ boat racing.
WCC ,s offshore safety cell has been accepted by the UIM for use in the new forty foot, twin engined cat.
busy right now, have to go !
Jackie..how many gears is that one?... also what is the annual road tax please?
Think it’s eight speeds Ron———-and it’s £240.road tax which is non transferable it’s set up with £1,000 of new brake system and MOT is a piece of piss. Somewhere around 300 hp. Put it into sport mode and it’s a different animal, but it has a thirst like a parched navvy. Only did it the once, enjoyed the experience, but the sight of the diminishing fuel gauge will haunt me all the rest of my days.
Auction is currently running at £1600—- finishes at 10:00am tomorrow Friday.
Honest to murgatroyd, in my opinion anything under five is a steal for a damn near perfect car.
pair of xenon headlights sells for two grand today!
There’s a turn up for the book, grandson Craig will not be performing in the P1 series this forthcoming season. Far too busy building new Composite P1s for Malaysia, India and China. Order books are full for the whole of this year, and as CEO of WCC there won’t be any time left for having fun this year,
Plus three more Seebold Champ boats——- and a bunch of offshore safety cells been ordered already.Life is never going to be dull at Wilson Custom Composites.
Somebody got the bargain of a lifetime today ——- my trusty Lexus for a lousy £1600 !
Somedays you eat bear ——- must say, the old girl looks the part, and every single switch works exactly as it should. Will be sorry to see her go.
Just looked up in the spare parts list and a pair of Lexus wing mirrors sells at £1600—- Enough to make a strong man weep!
https://images.fineartamerica.com/im...y-my-walls.jpg...Jack, tell Craig to make a little room for some fun...
Hells teeth Fuji——— if I hadn’t played so damned hard and long, maybe I could have had enough cash left over to have had a long, comfortable, miserable retirement!
Then again I wouldn’t have had all the bloody silly wild times——— met all the crazy people that gather together and slap oversized motors on undersized boats just to see who can get there first and then tell the same lies over and over again for the next fifty years all in the name of“POWERBOATMANSHIP”.
Third night on the trot I’ve had little or no sleep—- new pills are working their magic, but damned if I can get any sleep at all . Just not tired, read a book overnight.
Cant get even a tad excited about the new Lexus——— just sad about seeing the old one go, wonder why that is.
Ah well, shave and haircut day, beginning to look like old Father Time .
Really look forward to talking to Mark and Craig on FaceTime. Manage to talk to Mark a couple of times a week if I’m lucky——- Craig once a month—— maybe, . Now I realise they each have their own lives to live, their own families to raise and educate, and all the problems that come with trying to make a living, run a business, and stay out of trouble. ( which, if your a wilson, is not easy.)
Only way I ever get to know what’s going on in the boating world today is through the pages of S & F —— the old farts—- and my family, so you understand why it’s important we speak on a regular basis. Especially since Marks in the propulsion side of powerboating ( boats up to 110’ ——- stern drives——- surface drives——— props, four to ten blades——— 18”—-- 50” and beyond ).
If a big Pershing—-Riva—-Ferretti or Sunseeker has problems, that’s when they send for Mark.
Down time on one of those things is an expensive business!
Craig is up to his fetlocks in new technology called “composites”—— I got my knuckles rapped when I called it up to date fibreglass.
He devotes a lot of his time to saving lives——- safety cells—— raceboats——- tunnels——- monos—— circuit ——- offshore —— still don’t stop me getting pissed at him for being too busy to talk to me sometimes.
Was still me that taught him and the other nine grandkids how to drive a car.
I swopped twenty five solid mahogany doors for a two seater DUTTON sports car——- screwed wood blocks to the pedals so the kids legs could reach——- took them into the middle of a field and turned em loose.
Craig was ten——- he could drive a four speed stick shift sports car round the farm before he reached eleven.
Wasnt really that big a deal,Sonny was only seven but she could drive perfectly well as could all the other grandkids.
Then I swopped the tractor for a Honda trail bike and a Husky trial bike—— Ben broke his arm, but that’s a whole different story for another day!
Haven’t quite killed the General crossword this morning——- can normally put it to bed in under the hour, today it’s been a stone bitch. Couldn’t get my mind round it at all. Was still thinking how badly the English played against the Welsh———— sure, they ground out a win, but it was a messy affair. If their going to get the grand slam, they have work to do. The Irish won’t be that forgiving, and the bloody frogs will be rubbing their hands in anticipation.
Craig’s taken the family up to Orlando for a weekend of fun to celebrate Brodericks first birthday——- then it's nose to the grindstone for the rest of the month before attending the Paris Composite Show where the Seebold will be on display.
After that he’s off to Austria for a weeks skiing with Simon another of my grandsons———- can’t have him getting factory bound Fuji can we.
Last day of the heart monitor today and I must say, I feel a 100% better since the new medication—— got a bit of the old fizz back again. With a bit of luck I might get some shop time in this week.
Replacement Lexus 450HSport should be ready for collection Tuesday ——- not breaking my neck to collect it yet, getting the last moments out of the old girl—— a bit like like leaving a high class hooker the morning after !
If anyone’s interested CALDWELL have one of their BA BA Italian Tunnel hulls up for sale —- reading between the lines, I’d think funds were running low and there a need to get some product out there and sold. Three years is a long time talking, it’s time to put up.
Thats all for now——- see what happens later in the day !
What in the name of god is matter with the human race today ?
Just seen on the news that the people at OXFAM ——- you know, the people who fly out all over the world to help those in need in disaster areas———supposed to help the most vulnerable, people at their lowest ebb, those who are supposed to give love care and attention have been found to be wandering the moral low ground. It’s like trusting your kids with the priests all over again.
Been a funny old Sunday——- the OXFAM news buggered the day completely for me.
Good day for the underdogs——— the Scots whupped the arse of the French in the rugby.
Newcastle duffed the mighty Manchester United. £500 million can’t beat just a couple on a bad day!
Russias agricultural air lines had another plane fall out of the sky killing 71——- how the hell can a nation that’s so far advanced in rocket science be so backward with its domestic airlines ?
Its navy vessels are no better either——— they lay a trail of unburnt diesel on the water and a cloud of black smoke in the air up and down the English Channel every day
Here I go again , having my weekend moan and groan about everything and nothing in particular.
Hospital 8:30am Tomorrow——- see some specialist or another——- then have the monitor removed and hey presto Life begins at 86, whoopy bloody do.
How ‘bout that then——- didn’t he do well ? Don’t you just love it when a totally unknown—- unheralded 17 year old kid, simply gets on his skate board and pisses on the rest of the world from a dizzy height————- did you ever see such a wonderful performance.
That was .the GOLD MEDAL —- right there, a virtuoso performance that will go down in the Annals of Olympic winter history!
By the cringe Colorado——- you got a “good- un” in young “RED”.
Somebody called to tell me they thought “SQUIRT “ might have copped his clogs——— told em , no worries—— he never gets out from under the sheets before noon these days !
They just closed London City Airport cos they found a WW11 bomb UNDER the Thames ——— well they sure as hell ain’t likely to find one ABOVE the Thames are they.?
Just killing time before I leave for the hospital——- bit excited really—— should be back to normal after six months bloody misery. Damned if those shop doors don’t look inviting.
Trouble is—— it’s been so long since I was in there, myheads completely empty, not a single idea festering.
Get back to you later in the day——— maybe with a bit of boating news , if I get lucky.
You would never get a malt that size anywhere else in the world except in the Wilson house after some joyful tidings. Today I had a dire need to celebrate——-a surgeon and a consultant told me they were surprised and happy with progress made——— if their happy—— I’m happy, no need for surgery just yet.
Afraid there’s very little left in the bottle Johnno—— but it was great fun while it lasted and it’s place of origin was worth more than the stuff itself!
Just because I could——- and no other reason—— I picked an old hardwood sill out of the woodpile that had long since been discarded as “unusable” and started Fernagling ! Tried to make something approaching in similarity to the composite Seebold, but failed miserably———- it’ll make a fair trophy but is far removed from the original intended—— but I’m up and running again—— hauling asse and cooking with gas . Sod my old britches, if I didn’t even clean up the shop at 5:00 pm.
Times they are a changing.
Crack- o - Sparrow we leave to collect our new set of wheels, the Pearl White Lexus RX 450 H F Sport which will replace our much loved RX 300 .
Really pushed theboat all the way out this time,——— figure it’ll be the last time I’ll ever be this bloody stupid and positively the very last vehicle I will ever purchase.
Was sad to see that the victims of the Grand Canyon helicopter crash were all from the town a little further down the coast—- Worthing—— helicopter accidents are very rare indeed these days, but there’s usually a witch hunt when one happens———— this ones no exception.
Should the craft even have been flying in 55 mph winds ?——— was the pilot capable ? —— was the eurocopter airworthy!?
Ive been on that trip into the canyon myself, along with millions of others——- I wonder just what the outcome of this enquiry will be ?
Anyone got any thought on the matter?
Time to rise and shine——- got me a Lexus to collect !
As my late father said...."there are people flying aircraft that shouldn't be allowed to drive a car due to the BAD decisions they make" John Kennedy jr comes to mind!
Gary
Very true my friend——
Was chucking it down as I walked down the drive this morning, there’s a nasty hole in the drive, grass either side———- I tripped and started to stumble—— this turned into a trot as I tried to correct it——— ten yards down the road I was into a full blown totally out of control sprint, before falling arse over tip ——- digging a hole in my knee and taking layers of skin off my left hand . All before 8:00am I never felt quite so stupid in all my life ——
Jills daughter Catherine had kindly offered to take us to collect the F Sport Lexus. I never got to drive it home———— passenger ride is nice though———— BOLLOCKS,!!!!!!!
Jonah....I mean Jackie. after you've wiped the blood off the co-pilots seat how about putting some snaps up?....
Jesus wept, but your a sadistic old bastard Ron !Attachment 399589Attachment 399590
