Hey Twigg,
Its a 3.0 L sportsmaster box polished then painted with a clear coat.
Look forward to seeing you at the races.
Hope your skiers up to the task.
They are hard to find these days.
Hey Laker, long time no speak. For various reasons I have been only quickly popping in at this forum and not really had much time to play here like I used to but today found the time to go back through and catch up on how some of the old threads and their projects had turned out. Was AMAZED by how sweet that motor looks, congrats. Here's another look at mine, just in case you forgot!
Let me tell you Chris. If I had a boat & motor combo like that I would be in HEAVEN.
I would die a happy man.

Hello Liquid,
what sort of revs do the 250 HO ETEC engines pull at the 24hr race just curious.
Yes the 3L box has 1.62 and 1.75.
In Aus we normally run the smaller diameter 2.5L box with the 1.86 ratio.
No one here uses the 3L Sporty cos its 2 plus mph slower than the Torque master, which is slower than the 2.5 box sporty.
Thats for our application anyway.Which is towing skiers between 75 to 95mph.
And our rules dictate we cannot run above the plank.
Hey Twigg,
I have run torque master boxes before but i have broken them, i have snapped a couple of casings clean in half and nearly rolled the boat so i steer clear of them over about 85mph but if you can get the sportsmaster out of the water and hook them up there a better box i think, but i admit slower.
In 2006 they ran the 3.3 litre powerhead which I was told was stock standard. They won.
In 2007 they ran the 3.4 litre powerhead & frankly I don't know if they were running anything other than stock.
Below is a video of the 250HO running with a Merc which it cleaned up several times. It had a huge potential to do very well in 2007 but the aftermarket gears in the old V8 cases couldn't take it. You can hear the sound quite clearly through a 6" open mid. It sounds a little different to the previous year but not a lot so I am guessing that it was a stock block. I have heard that they do run pretty good up to 7500rpm or so with a modded ECM. One thing I do know is the 3.4litre have a LOT MORE horses in them & the day will come that they will be let loose.

If you want that ratio for Moc its the way to go.
Of course the 1.75 ratio should will allow you to run smaller props which saves boat handling with the massived eared ET's we run these days.
And cheaper,replacing broken boxes ain't cheap,or fun.
Cos there was a rumour that got around that ski racing was supposed to be fun!!
Thanks Ken and Taylor!!
Just waiting for the waters to go down then I can beat the snot out of her and see what she can really do!

New Aussie built 18ft Bullet with an over 300hp Darren Spencer special.
Its bloody beautiful!!!!
MOC is in for a very big kicker of a season. Congratulations Darren for a showpiece rig. It is truly a credit to you & your team. We hope you will keep us updated on how she runs. "Over 300hp" sounds fantastic but I can assure you that if that is a 250HO powerhead then there is a lot more horses ready to run under the E-Tec hood without even modifying the powerhead. When you dial her in you should be the leader in the Australian outboard MOC ski racing field.

Thats on sick lookin ride! How fast is it?
With plenty of Formula III World Championships for OMC under his belt in the 1980's, Sweden's famous boat racer Lars Ström ordered this 32' Skater from his friend Hledin 1990. The 4 litre OMC's produced 375 hp each. This was a recreational set up, but still did an honest 130 mph and change.
triple 8's, nice:cool:
HI.my 81 viper completed 140 cross-flow massaged nicely 28 cleaver 6oo0 rpm 70.1 mph thanks
