The Jones pictured above is the Rudy Ramos 1970 Havasu entry. In that World Championship race, Rudy was late getting started and away from the beach. As his Jones was finally leaving, Joe Fielder, leading the field of over 100 boats, was completing the first lap. At full throttle, Joe hit the huge hole in the water left by Ramos planing off. His twin Glastron/Molinari tripped on it's tail and took a terrible nose dive. As Joe popped back up to the surface, all he could see was boats coming at him. It was one of the most frightening sights I had ever witnessed as Joe was waving and bobbing, pushing himself off of boats as they went by. The fact that he didn't get run over is a miracle.Quote:
