Finally finished the the pickle. Damned if didn't lose one of the filler caps! Seems like I never will get to finish a concept first time of asking. Another coat of wax won't come amiss.
.................wow...........they are awesome!
Attachment 321662 Looks much better! Just love turning your crank. Just wait till OFF.
I know that Johnno, I just load the gun for you and Willabee, stand back, open the gate, and wait for you to shoot yourselves in the foot. Wouldn't have it any other way!
Suppose I ought to do Willa a half tidy detailed stacker that he might stick on the mantelpiece, I already got his Atcheson Topeka with the cow catcher cluttering up the "Studio". There's only so much room for the concepts, too much stuff on the shelves every which way you look.
If anyone out there is remotely interested in anything you might have seen. On this here site, feel free to make an offer!
There is over 100 items scattered all over the hog market -----only about ten are spoken for, really must stop just making stuff for the sake of it, but then again I got a stack of exotic planks about eight foot by two foot by two inches, and I know if I take the dust covers off, I will be churning more "Concepts" out.
Had to call it a day after a couple of hours in the shop, body was screaming "Enough" . A couple of my old friends, Clive and Jane came for lunch, so we tootled off to the local pub (The Holly Tree)
For lunch
Couple of pints of Harvey's best bitter and a plate of scampi and fries made us feel a whole lot better.
Got a few more piccies of the ROTORIES and V8/s, Vee and stacked Mercs, wings and Mollies , most of 'em want a finishing touch or two, but it's not beyond the wit of man to finalise the damn things.
Think you might all be a bit sick of my ramblings for the day so I'll say goodnight one and all, MYGGWY.J.
Another day, another dollar, anyone know where that saying comes from?
We are promised two hours sunshine this afternoon and one this morning, no rain and a high of 68,
they do get it right most of the time, can also see ten days in to the future!
Wont be long before they introduce the "Happy Hundred Pill", swallow two a day for the next sixteen and a half years and I'll make it, but what feckin use is that to anyone if you can't get medical insurance to travel where you want, or anywhere in fact. The last four days in Spain cost me $600 for medical insurance, as usual, for the 23rd year on the trot I did not fall ill or make a claim, what the hell happened to human rights for the over sixties.
!after twenty years with American Express I was told in no uncertain terms that "Sex and Travel" was my only option!
Enough of all this moaning and groaning, let's all enjoy the freedom and the day, and thank God we made it this far!
I suspect the saying "another day, another dollar" was around long before Disney made animated motion pictures.
I would imagine it is a true Americanism! Always thought it was a reflection on boredom and routine, a polite "What the hell"------------ or maybe "Whatever", or maybe "stuck in a rut" or "Repitition". Just seems to have been around forever!
How much did you earn per day on your first job Jackie?
So a dollar a day was just a dream or a joke from some rich guy?
I was 21 and had served my apprentice ship before i reached those dizzy heights
Watch any western with John Wayne or Randolph Scott, Buck Jones or Gene Autry, James Stewart , Audie Murphy, Glen Ford, etc, etc, etc, the pay was always the same, 30 dollars a month and all found.
