Gary, the horn on the front of the mid that goes over the shift rod cover strikes the pigtail hydraulic line on the bottom of the tilt cylinder. One of the Delrin blocks Taylor installed on either side of the swivel bracket to compensate for loss of lateral restiction, comes to rest on the tilt pump casting. This stops the mid from hitting the pigtail. I have modified one of the blocks to get a little more negative trim.
(the stocker I cut down had the old style like yours) and am running a Sporty but it had the same issues (worse w/the Sporty since it's longer) and here's what I did to correct it.Quote:

I don't see the need for a faster trim as the amount I need to move the trim from launch (neutral) to full speed, about halfway from neutral to full, it seems quick enough. I am just a caveman lawyer, I know nothing about this mystrey trim pump you describe. ;) Will it fit in my old crossflow?

in '92 OMC changed a bunch of things on the loopers including a new trim system called "fast track" and it had the hydraulic passages cast into the housing instead of exposed like yours and all other pre '92's.
If your boat doesn't require much trim it didn't make much difference. My old Vector though, was set up as a lake boat on steroids and needed the speed.
That boat spent more time in the Gulf of Mexico than anywhere else and needed the full travel and when drag racing it needed faster trim (for the way it was set up) and 24V took care fo that.
It was too fast for WFO playing though and would go back to 12V for that.

Those GT150s ran really well in their day considering they were crossflows and the competion was loop charged.The ole GT150 still spanked them!

Hey Mate,Only had 1 run without skiers hit 95 Mph pretty easy just needed to run a bigger prop when i run it boat alone, great engine awesome boat to drive everything built in Sydney Australia, Rod Bickerton from Force boats built the boat and Jeff & Bruce Stubbs from Sportsfisherman marine built and set up the engine and steering system, the steering arms and pulley system is a work of art, really safe cable steering design.:thumbsup:
