And my 20" motor is now a 19.999" motor!
Intake side is done. I took a pic of the Yamaha 220 Special ruber intake stuffer blocks in case anyone wanted to see what the y look like. They fit in next to the cages

Last time I put those stuffers in I used a little high temp RTV to stick them in place for assembly. When I pulled them out I saw the edges of the RTV had softned from the fuel and sure enough, I found little pieces of it in the bottom of the motor. Getting the rest of it off the rubber stuffers was a BITCH!
No RTV this time. Just tilted the motor so the intake side was facing down a bit so I could put the intake up without the stuffers falling out. Once its on,they are pinched against the front half. They dont only stuff but direct the charge but eliminating a BIG gap and directing flow toward the crank. On my stock motor, the differnce in slow/mid response was HUGE.
A couple of tips/things I have learned. The Monocoat fuel proof paint is super hard and durable. It must be an epoxy or acrylic. The finish isnt quite as nice as Merc or Duplicolor enamel but its much more durable. I think the finish would be nicer but the tip on the can is cheap. The Duplicolor enamel look smooth and has a much nicer tip.
ALmost everything off the old motor has been soaked/cleaned in Beryymans Chem Dip. Its a 1 gallon pail with a basket for your parts. I have been putting some REALLY gooey nasty parts in it and they come out an hour later looking like new. I dont know how I lived without this stuff. The only thing it didnt touch with that damn RTV. You can get it at Walmart or any parts store for about $15. Poor mans parts cleaning station.
Looking real good Mr D
Thanks! I cant wait to fire it up. Last night I noticed a rubber grommet in the adapter plate that cushions the shift shaft was torn/crumbling. Hopefully local dealer has one or I will be waiting again for a part that has to go on before I can mount the powerhead.
VERY VERY NICE WORK, Thanks for telling about the Beryymans Chem Dip I will be picking this stuff up
in the future for sure
