Remember what I told you about the whole bloody F1 set up-----maybe now you will believe it-------no script could have been written better.
Bernie of course would have made it last until the penultimate round------but he's a lot more streetwise than the present ringmaster!
Can you imagine the odds on predicting that finish. I'd heard it said in the Far East a long time ago that the Far East gambling syndicates ran Formula One Racing
Verstappen to win.
Bottas second
Raikonan third.
Vettel fourth
Hamilton ninth and still wins his fourth championship.Imagine the odds you could have got on that
About a million to one-----at least.
I suspected the whole set up was being orchestrated a few years back, Did I not forecast an "Oddity" this morning ? Well my friends, results don't come much ODDER than this one.
Never in a million years would Ferrari allow Raikonan to finish third and Vettel Fourth-------any bookie in the world would give you 50-1 on that !
Hamilton to finish 9 th while still running a healthy car ------- virtually impossible 40-1.
Drivers earn more than movie stars so they do what their told------- or is this just a crazy old loon having a bad day. Tell you now-------I'm not crazy----- and I'm in good health ------for now!!!!!!!
Would fit there nicely Johnno-------remember how little the boat looked with the Rotory on its bum when it first turned up .
you couldn't mistake it for anything othe than an "OFFSHORE BOAT" . Although I say it myself, it's a gem of a boat, really good looking. It started out as "MONA LOU" for Odell, but it came out with much nicer lines than the short fat stumpy little fecker he did the Bahamas 500 in
Dont think you ever ran the Rotory offshore-------you really could have got into Carl's knickers big time if you had-------he would just about died of a sh- t fit there and then.
Shape is a cross between outer limits and Fountain----------what you really want is a full tunnel Scotti like hull. You never asked me for one before, and anyway you still owe me a bottle of single malt.
Johnno---- how 'bout I send the boat to John You send him the Rotory and let him finish it. The man has the magic touch.
Gene-------do any of us ever tell anyone "EVERYTHING" we know-------think about it, I can tell you categorically that my life would have been over many years ago if "EVERYTHING" I've ever done was made public. I don't tell lies? -------I just manipulate the truth to my advantage ?
I hung on until the last minute before it was made clear, I will not be at the old farts gathering this year-------there are "MITIGATING CIRCUMSTANCES" --------too numerous to mention.
Would love to hear Odells account of telling CK to "get the feck off my boat" just one more time-------maybe next year.
Wandering around like a lost sheep in a snow covered swamp this morning-----the grandchild minder has left me a Cornish pasty and a jar of mango chutney for my lunch, whilst she has swanned off to Marwell Zoo for the day with Lizzie and daughter Catherine . Unsteady on the old pins today----- been warned off playing with machines for a while although the index finger is working tolerably well so I could be a tad annoying today.

Bob, you have to teach me "how" ? me and my youngest quaffing Verve Clique whilst boulling on the beach last Saturday !

Benny, is that the same 42' lightning from 2007 ?
The same mould that "King of Shaves" and Cat Killercame out of?
Have you done that one in carbon + ?
Thought the American market was either Centre console with Four or five biggest you can buy outboards --------or forty plus foot tunnels with a pair of 1250/ 1500 hp Mercury inboards with high shine ---go fast shoes ?
Still looks pretty I have to say.
Attachment 391022Murphy's on the hunt today!
Talked to Mark today-------- asked him if he was in touch with the old farts?. Apparently, he offered to put sandwiches and beer on the table, ( that was with Bert the Squirt) and arrange a tour of the new facility, he just wanted confirmation from Rich,------or someone, but he's heard nothing back.
Mark, Craig, and Gary are all attending the Friday night hanger party at Charlie Wolfes place, but I doubt that'll give him enough time to organise a guided tour with beer and burgers!
The new shop is in Port St. Lucie-----------Lassie got a spread and an RV up there I'm told, ----his missus does a bloody good Zumba too .
In the seventies, the pleasure boat market in the USA was Vees of various degrees.
Tunnel pleasure boats were almost unheard of. Today's fishing boats have to do a hundred miles an hour and look more like the old ST boats than a flat bottom fisher.
Vee bottoms are on the decline--------common everyday fibre glass is almost a thing of the past, New technology, and with it the new materials, will bring in new designs and methods of construction that should take boat design and construction to the next level.
Modern outboards are big and brutal ------can't be long before the first 1,000 horse power hits the water,---------clever bit will be keeping the damn thing on a boats bum.
You can no longer call these monsters "CLAMP ONS"- it'll be the swivel pins, the tilt and jacking mechanisms, and the suspension of an outboard that will be cause for concern.especially when you get
6 x 500 hp in a line hung on a transom .
I never envisaged the size and power that outboards would attain--------fact is, they have , they will also increase in size, weight and horsepower. Manufacturers will leave it to the designers to solve all the problems!
Attachment 391058Attachment 391059
Really thought this was going to be a going concern------first reports we're promising------unfortunately that's all there's ever been------hope and promises!
What is it with projects like this-------cost ?------marketing--------breakages ? Or is it simply, the product hasn't come up to expectations?
Now, not for a moment am I criticising the effort-------I would just like to know where it's at, this moment in time!

Why bo I think of this picture as "FECKIN OBSCENE" ? I've pondered long and hard over it but still can't quite put my finger on it-------do we have any smart asses out there who could help me with this.
Does anyone else feel the same way, or is it just me.?
Nothing "obscene" about it at all Jackie. Been going on in South Florida since the late seventies here. With all the performance boat/engine dealers here, and the performance oem boat manufacturers here, its just a way of life. Its normal. Never been a shortage of currency in this area, to make anything & everything happen.
http://www.screamandfly.com/attachme...8&d=1509446499...Their "busy"...filling orders Jackie...lol
ok Fuji------ in all honesty---- has any one person put one of these motors on a half tidy hull. And entered it any sort of event-----anywhere in the world?
Did it finish-------did it break ------did it give a good account of itself ? Did it ever do more than just "Look the Biz"
Then there's all this bull she-t by the APBA/UIM that a hundred and one motors must be produced before their eligible to compete?
Just hope it doesn't get lost in the mountain of rules, red tape and regs that organised bodies can think up.
I finally cottoned on as to what's wrong with the picture---------it's a colour thing -------you can paint a lemon blue, red or white--------you'll never squeeze a glass of wine out of it?
Not 100% sure and maybe someone who was there can chime in, but I believe these 2 boats with the CRT livery on them were running the motor above at the Jasper races.

that engine need to run with a clear plexiglass cowl over it
i would really like a pair of these at max displacement but i don't think it in my budget any idea of the cost of a complete powerhead
Have no idea myself of the cost Sammy, but will Facetime Seebold------he knows how much everything costs.
Theres a meeting of the old farts in Stuart this weekend, somebody's bound to know. My mysterious colleague "FUJIMO" is a font of information on all things Mercury, doubt he knows about pricing other folks products.
Another in the "who's who" of boating facts ( as long as its OMC) is Lassie Strom ! Be interesting to see what he knows!
COULD ASK MY GRANDSON CRAIG, he's got a meeting with Timmy Seebold today, between them, they should know something!
would be kinda nice to get in touch with the guy in the CRT Allison waving the chequered flag with "Sunoco" emblazoned on it-------CRT Motor has Merc cowling and colours-------first time I've ever seen a winning boat with no number on it ?
Sorry if I sound a bit cynical------but if I was the "Butler" at CRT, I would be shouting the win from the rooftops and hanging out the Stars and Stripes, which makes me think it might have been a two horse race for a publicity shot. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
Looked on the CRT website---------first thing that jumped out at me was -----------the very same Allison that was shown running the chequered flag, which I would say confirms my belief it was a
" stunt" picture.
There's lots of questions regarding pricing of the product-------lots of speculation-----but very little in the way of actual prices.
Lots of talk about mid sections and gearcases etc. Not once anywhere does it come up with a complete working motor. Reading between the lines and using a touch of common sense, I would guess you could buy the short block for around $30,000. .
Havent seen a Caldwell built lump in its entirety yet! I would guesstimate that you simply replace the top end of your present Mercury/Mariner motor, keeping the cowls and hope they fit.
i sincerely hope I get shot down in flames over this----- I've been an ardent fan of Caldwell since I first saw that first billet.
you know what they say about publicity of any kind Caldwell, you're getting a fair share here,, and it's all for free.
The gentleman running this would probably know a few facts...;)

Please don't take offence but every time your name comes up, I think it's "Mid Life Crisis"
I'm not a nasty man, but I have a wicked sense of humour. Thanks for the vid, but I don't know Jay Price-------known Timmy Seebold since he was a kid. Due to speak to him in the next hour or so when I might get a few questions answered.
None taken and it is a reference to exactly that. :D
Look forward to hearing the possible answers.
NOW, thereby hangs a tale--------some very bright people who know a lot of people in the marine industry contribute to this column on a regular basis. It's all done in friendly easy manner as a rule.
Why all of a sudden have they all kept shtum about the Caldwell motor-------Fujimo simply says" busy fulfilling orders". ------- Midlyf reckons Jay Price knows something, but I have only seen his name on an F1 race boat, can't recall ever coming face to face with him----- My son and grandson are not "available" today-------tried them both a couple of times but the drawbridge has been pulled up!
So, if anyone out there, male or female, animal or vegetable, can give this scribe an update on the CRT MOTOR ------we could become very good friends.
T2X is usually a mine of information, but he's probably en route to the old farts gathering in Stuart Fl. which starts on Friday 3 rd November.
Would love to hear from anyone who has tested------fired up the powerhead------- purchased one-----actually bought one-------touched one ------sniffed one even, please send us a note of your experience with a CRT!
Well what'd ya know------neither Mark nor Craig can tell me anything about the CRT that I didn't already know. Wasn't able to talk to Timmy-------he'd already left. But if the CRT had been competitive, you can bet your sweet bippy he would have wrung every last ounce out of it.
So that just about wraps up everything I can tell you about that great looking motor. Seems nobody I know has one.
For the length of time it's been around, somebody somewhere should know something about it.
So, if any of you reading this can throw light on our subject, please feel free to do so.
Well, that was 12 hours ago and not even a sniff of information about the Caldwell-------tempted to see if they have a Facetime or hotline, might be nice, just to talk to someone at the factory.
Any of you out there ( particularly Roger H.) remember the black Pughy looking boat with the big V8 Rude on its back ? Think it was based around the Stuart area, It was billed as a 200 mph record boat?
it did a couple of low speed runs, then things went very quiet for some reason.
Anyone know for sure what's happening in that neck of the woods.?
I just read through every page (13) of Q&A on the Caldwell Technoogy site------starts of with hope and a great future-------it ends up with pretty much the same thing two years down the line, it was hoped the price would be around $11/15,000 ------it ends up "hoping" to be $30,000.
When asked about the dyno testing "Fujimo" wrote simply TOP.? Never have I seen that on a dyno print out, so the question is still what does it produce?
Still waiting to see if anyone anywhere has actually bought one in any shape or form, powerhead or full motor and what was the cost of this work of art------did it break or not? Once these questions have been answered, we can continue.
Its becoming suspicious, they have what looks like clever technology on block sleeves and porting yet no data, are they saying it never went on a dyno?
Jackie if I am correct the rig you are talking about is "Twistered" and the rumor is that it has been put on the "back burner".
Why? Haven't heard. I have been very interested in this project.....to set a new speed record. Maybe someone with more info will chime in.
Gary
I think the thread explained why its gone quiet..
Jackie, the outrigger hull with the big V8 was sadly stopped because of the untimely passing of the gentleman who was funding it.
Well, it's good that nobody was hurt. Sad when a sponsor cops his clogs------- but at least the man died happy, living the dream.
Wonder if there are any more out there chasing the dream!
Even Warby's gone quiet------there was a couple of Gung-ho shake down runs end of September, but after that, nothing. I wonder if he had a problem somewhere along the line? ( Besides the uim rule makers)

Came across this book of all Abbot and Costello films------didn't even ask the price-----was totally knackered-----had to call it a day half way through-----spent two hours in the surgery, a couple shots in the rear soon put me right again. After two hours in bed, I'm good as new!
You could make a comedy film out of these capers------where the hells Tarantino when you want him?
It's another great day for old time racers tomorrow------it's OFF 2017-------- not exactly how it was supposed to be------mitigating circumstances dontcha know.
Best laid plans of mice and men etc.
Just hope they all stick together-----go with the flow and improvise--------enjoy the weekend, and each other, you never know, it could turn out to be the best ever OFF meeting to date.
Really sorry I couldn't be there myself, but I'm certain Mark, Craig, Lou and Gary will keep the Wilson flag flying proud at this glorious get together of people who love the sport of power boating in all its many forms.
My thoughts are with the many friends I've made that attend the meeting year after year, long live the old farts.
Feeling fit as a flea this morning------not a great believer in "SHOTS" but whatever was in the ones I received up the rear end yesterday, I can tell you-----they worked.
Looking forward to some workshop time today------been over a week since I even opened the door.
Just hope I get to talk to some of the old farts on FaceTime at the hanger party this evening especially Stavros and John Shubert, Roger H, Noel S, Rich and Doreen and the Squirt itself!
Will get back to you later in the day, finally looking forward to a bit of living instead of simply existing!
