Wow nice rig!
I did not know that, sweet.
what gearcase is he running?
How about a BRP 3 cyl with 15" mid, Merc got the jump with the 60 and its for fishing... ( sure the F4 has a 15")
durability and ratio issue
Great shot and great ad to be read.
In the era when they built a motor for tons of classes.

Evinrude has powered race boats for over 100 Years – 1915 Race Trophy.

All of the above.
Ive done both.
I cut down an OMC, ran the OEM gear case w/a nose cone.
To surface one you have to pin the carrier which I did.
The stock skeg is a joke for going fast so I added a 100% of surface area to that.
Doing that allowed me to run the longer, after market torque tab.
It ran very good at a 100+.
Ive done several that way.
To wave the OMC flag.
But I hate nose cones.
And being RPM limited, the change from OMCs 1.86:1 to Mercs 1.62:1 is worth 3” of pitch.
Its over drive to us.
So not only did OMC not give us **** for props other than the Raker and SRX (Which needs worked to run) they never gave us a decent gear case either.
Not sure what this is but the look is familiar..:)

Gotta love a 'rocker bottom' in FULL flight (and a Glastron-Moliari at that!).

Got the chance to test a couple of the Glastron-Molinaris. They were kind of obsolete at the time but a wonderful boat to drive. Would like to have been able to race one.
Got this picture from Mats Lindstedt yesterday..a friend of mine in Sweden..not very sharp.
PARIS 6 Hours 1975
After Lorentz Näslund and I finished third in Paris 1974..we where now ready for a win in the OE class.
My Nacka Asfalt/Clerici/Evinrude SE boat was well prepared for the race..
The entry form was in time to Mr. Blodinare..
Race number 69.
Well..a good start don’t help when you hit something a few laps later and break the gear case at the far end of the race course..
Two hours to get back to the pit and the race was over..
We left Paris for a Evinrude dealer meeting on the Canary Islands
My friend Per Benson took Lorentz van and my boat back to Sweden..
I told Per.. please remember to stamp the Carne ATA document out of France..
He forgot that and a letter from OMC came later in the mail ..
My dream of winning Paris 6 hours was still a dream
This was also the last Paris with Lorentz as a co-pilot.

BRP/Evinrude update/news.
Jose’ Boisjoli, President and CEO of BRP announced today that Karim Donnez, a senior vice president of Strategy and Business Development for BRP, has replaced Tracy Crocker in the leadership role of the Evinrude Marine Group consisting of Evinrude Outboards, AlumaCraft Boats, Telwater Boats, and Manitou Boats.
I remember when Tracy was at Pepsi-Cola & Nabisco. Will he be moving into a new position at BRP, or moving on to another company? Be great to follow him.
If I understand everything correct he is completely gone from BRP as of today.
Tracy didnt last long?
is Karim a boat guy?
Tracy was at BRP for three years. Karim have been with BRP for 5 years. He is temporary replacing Tracy.
