A short break from Paris 1970 and forward 15 years.
I just got this from a friend of mine. The #8 Burgess/Evinrude F1-V8 with the most reliable sponsor .."Lasse Ström Marin" was my very successful outboard business in Stockholm, Sweden.
The picture is from the London GP 1985 and the engine was updated with the better exhaust manifold.

Did you notice that Bob Nordskog always looks the same no matter what boat he is in. He looked just the same in the 66 9 Hour. I got to see him a lot because he passed us every couple of laps.
Back to Paris 6 Hours 1970 and testing before the race at the OMC Europe headquarter in Brugge, Belgium.

. No 38 was a UK entry from Bill Shakespeare it would be the last wooden boat built by bills boat company and Bernard Michel was his French Co driver who lived at St Cloud Paris but worked for the Fiat motor company he ran fiats Rally and competition department. Bernard Michel had blown that little boat over at the Chasewater500 race in the Uk earlier the same year.2 yrs later I would drive that same no 38 boat in the Paris 6 hr race 1972 and finish in 5th place not bad for a boat that was past its best. The no 39 entry of Percval and Spalding was the last race they drove for OMC for many years.
From the OMC Boat house in Brugge, Belgium.
The #35 was a Cougar with Evinrude Starflite SS V4 power. Driver James Beard/Normanton. The race # was changed to 37 for the race.
