Proof!
My pickup only runs 125 :DAttachment 415220
I don't see the big speeds on my boat all the time, the conditions have to be just right. She pretty much owns the 120 123 mark, but you still need good conditions for that also.
Well, made it out a little longer this time (not too much longer).
Stator finally came in, threw it on and went for a blast.
She planed off immediately and had no hop, felt real, real nice. Went approximately 1/4 mile, saw some nice water, so told the wife hold on that I was just going up to 100mph to see how she feels, snap of a finger she was at 100. Slowed down and left motor dead in the water (opposite motor that I just fixed, *#@***). She would start and stall immediately. The left fuel pump is making crazy loud sounds, gauge is reading 39lbs when motor is off, but erratic when running for those few seconds.
So might as well change both fuel pumps and filters, what aftermarket pumps and filters are good for 260s?
Thanks
Frank
Once you get your new pumps, I would set them up on relays, sourcing your power from the back of the boat so you have full voltage going to them, I imagine they are now using the purple wire from the key?
You should not use aftermarket fuel pumps, I can get you the ones you need.
Buzzin- Fuel pumps are on their own feed from batteries (toggle switches).
Mario - I hear what your saying (always use OEM), but $529 each is nuts. Probably going to use Bosch 984s. Thanks for the offer.
I have them for $360 each
You can get 984 or 044 pump from your local part stores for $165-$250 each
Any updates?

Haven't had any good luck so far. She hasn't run 100% yet, but I decided to take her to a boat gathering a week ago, but she didn't want to cooperate and wouldn't run over 3/4 throttle. Changed computers back to the mercs and fixed some small issues like air/temp sensor, timing and made some other adjustments. Checked everything with merc testers, all good and both engines started right up. So, I got up early for a ride yesterday and put her in. 1000' down the canal one bank of cylinders dropped (lost outer switch pack) on left motor, idled on other motor but lost tach (rectifier). Pretty degrading paddling in with two broken motors . Since she was sitting for a bunch of years, and previous owner did no maintenance, I guess I have to expect this. One good thing is I am getting real close now, and not skimping on anything, so she should be reliable and fun in the future:cheers:
Sounds like the Stingray I purchased this past June which the owner advertised "NEEDS NOTHING"! YEP, nothing but $$$$!
