Been a slow old sort of day, renewed all the hoses and fittings from the compressor, misplaced the gun. Eventually found it on the top shelf of Uncle Dens cupboard where I placed it for safe keeping then forgot where I put it. Blasted compressor used to fire up about 2am which really ticked off her sleeping next to me. Thought discretion the better part of------didn't push my luck to the limit.
Jilly's off to the Tate gallery in London for the day tomorrow so I am taking a day off and visiting a bunch of my old friends. Will meet Her for dinner at "The Stag" in Balls Cross.
finished off the second straight six with pipes, they look kinda nice up on the shelf next to the ROTORIES and Rudes----have to get away from the nautical theme.
Tim Thipadeaux posted a picture of one of the Chinky made Vee 8 Rudes, it looks superb, I think they sell for around $35, downside is they're feckin Plastic, was tempted to stick a couple of The Chink Mercs on a wing, but somehow it doesn't seem to sit well with the way I do things. Anyway a couple of those things and two race props tops the $100 mark before I even open the shop, that's a no brainer!
Gary is an aircraft fruit and nut basket case and collects all things to do with planes so I picked up a Kelvin Altimeter at the car boot today, also bought a Jasmine and two "Trumpets of Jericho" bushes. Give me something to do over the weekend.
Poling stations closed ten minutes ago, Cameron to win, but will have to deal with one (or more) of the pleb parties ------that's a done deal!
Watch this page in about 8 hours, I could be chewing on my left foot, but I don't think so!
Thats it for tonight folks, thanks for your company, MYGGWY. J.
Its a plane not a boat, with aircraft the ruskies did have a few bits of techology up their sleeve the USA didnt.
How long did it take the US to work out how to make a verctored thrust engine in a fighter for example
Yes grateful to the USN otherwise I would be speaking Japanese and my first v8 car would have been a Lexus
PS looking at election results the Brits must be getting more educated?
Not sure what will happen in OZ with a black hole as big as the UK's
Shoulda put money on my forecast, got it ALL correct!
Now Cameron should have a Referendum to see if WE want to keep the Scots, you need big balls to call that, he doesn't have them!
SNP have replaced the Lib-dems, who are now a defunct party.
Wont be long before North Sea Oil runs out and the Scots hold out the begging bowl again, God made it and forgot it ! Only the English kept bailing them out. End of politics for another five years!
Day off today, not even opening the shop.

Berts thing, I am pretty sure was an iron block and it was on his CCC mid, in a straight line potent, I actually think he said it was dangerous on the corners.
Saying that a modern LS chev that are aluminium are about the same weight as the F1 v8 so maybe there is some potential in that?
I have only seen one photo of Bert's thing, legendary really.
There is a photo on the web of someone that grafted to old OMC 60's V4's together hence the first V8 I guess
Glenn Curtis was building motorcycle engines--moved on to airplanes quickly---OX-5 was a V-8----
"The basic design had slowly expanded by adding additional cylinders until they reached the V-8 in 1906. They also started enlarging the cylinders as well, but this led to cooling problems"
Wow, so we have a Tory government with a clear overall majority, Even Cameron could not have dreamed that one, it's taken away any excuse he may have had before about both hands being tied .
Had a good day visiting some of my old friends, never went near the shop today. Got those special race props from Gary today, they are beautiful and like all beautiful things , wildly expensive.
Even got the big diameter cleavers, they will look superb on the "Ermintrude and Johnrude", post you a piccy tomorrow.
Gene and the "Pildrim"sharing lots of info on the early v8s, great stuff, keep it coming.
Is that right your heading for Bristol on June 6th pilgrim!
Renato is supposed to be going, Jenks, Tony Williams, Pelle Brolin. Michael Werner, you can read for yourself the full list of entrants on the ---Fast on water site
Right, first things first, have a bunch of motors without props, will rectify that first, take a piccy or two so you can see why I was so keen to get the real Mcoy.
Then it's clean up time, the shop looks like the bottom of a baby's pram again, when I get in the groove and get a real hustle on with snot and shavings and sawdust all over the hog market, I don't have time to sweep up and dust down so it accumulates into a mess.
Saturday again, got a bunch of shrubs and plants to to dig in, I just know that by lunchtime I'll have a back that's killing me, why does a 75 liter bag of compost seem to weigh twice as much these days? Talk later, j.
Almost forgot it's the Spanish GP this weekend, been too tied up with my own life and general election to contend with to worry how Hamilton is faring. About to take my daily forty winks then I might get to watch Qualifying. I'll be back, jack.
