I always kept the steering bar ends even with the center of the swivel pin on the motor. On heavier motors you needed to add braces to maintain stiffness.

I loved this class of racing. I always disliked classes that required a second person in the boat except F runabout. In most of the other two person classes the second person was just ballast. In F runabout both guys were working together to get the boat around the course. I rode as passenger in FS class OPC boats several times and I hated it.
