"A nice 300 ETEC with a factory 15 inch mid and a good gearcase for surfacing would be a sweet place for BRP to start"
Hey Laker, what do you think of the Evolution intake, I've got one on my 3.0 Looper.
Laker, there is someone that is jealous:D :D :D
Man that looks so great! I wish it was mine!!
Btw: what are those 2 pipes above the open exhaust?
The Evolution intake is great! The Reed cages that come with them are even better. I dont think they are any better than the monty or stoker intakes but they sure do look nice.
BigBoy, Exhaust reliefs
I found some intakes that might work OK. Funny what came from OMC that can be found if you look hard enough!

Rejetting those would be fun.:)
Must find any advantage I can for Pro Carb!
I can't imagine getting an engine to breathe well enough to need all that air! That's incredible. Are those 1 3/8" carbs?
1 3/8" are for sissies. They're 1 5/8".
Joe,
Do you have a pic of that with the carbs off?
I can take one for you tomorrow when I get back to the shop. PM me your email again, top secret stuff!!
Hey Laker is that the mid section I think it is???
Some pic
My boat back in it's heyday.

I like the offshore pic , what kind of hull was that if you don't mind me asking
Try finding any 727 stuff. Almost impossible.

The new F3 back in 89', actually 87' or so, engineered by Dave Kirk working for Nerstrom that was run on the European circuit as well as a few Caribbean sites. The model with the exhaust on the starboard side!
We were using 1 3/8" carbs.
Cess, God Bless His Him, kept that class going for a long time, not even sure if it is still going but Jake in Seattle has all the stuff for everything.:)
you sure it was the last model? the second model (port exhaust) should make the power that you said earlier, and the last one was about 10-12hp more cuzz the exhaust was on the other side.
i don't have the last one, do have them 1 3/8 carbs, ?,thought it made more,
doin one with a56cube and a 31m front.
Fred,
Positive, we got more out of the 50cui block than we could ever get out of the 56cui block. We tried everything on that 56cui but it was just not there, baffled the living s--t out of us. When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! The 56cui block will not break 100hp! I'm serious, have no reason to BS, JUST WANT TO SHARE INFO. Even on the F3 Racing Mid-Section with racing gearcase it would not break 100hp!
It's kind of like us not being able to get the power of the 2 cyl. E-Tec to match what the SST-45 put out (foam block vs. cast). The 60hp E-Tec has it but does not come close to the SST-45!
just checkin, sounds like i should get new sleeves for the second model, it has press in liners. thinkin it's cuzz of number 3 cyl on the 56, the way it turns back,
was guna cut that out, but sounds like yous tried that, yes?
yes, not sure what to tell ya, keep going, can't hurt!!!!!!!!
I was lookin at Wayne Taylor's site this mornin and found this one. Had to put it here!!

thanks Gusto1, i had a 19s dynoed, them 56guys were sayin they was pullin big numbers with single carbs and reg. reed blocks:eek: we run them in the same class.
i like the open top on the busch hull:cool:
That's got to be the most powerful non-juice OMC V6 on the planet!!
I stand corrected!!!
wow...
I like the open top too, nice looking boat! What's Wayne got under the hood now??????
Of course everyone is going to say they are pulling big numbers, if big numbers are in the 90hp range with single carbs & production reed blocks, YES, that is reality & believable. If they say over 100hp tho, no way, their dyno is off. Actually the 56cu runs better on single carbs, 2 barrels do not do it any better.
