Time to start on the business end of the Viper!
Adjusted the bunks and came up with a great, stable working height.
There's a lot of work to do before it's straight and crisp. It's a first generation design Viper bottom, do I leave the strakes stock? I have no intention to fill in the pad.
Sharpen and square it all up and light the wicks Joe!! Mine drives itself over 80 with a cleaned up stock bottom.
Your photo reminded me of something...

Been following this thread all along. A great job and very inspiring. Sorry the pic isn't straight.
Thanks for the feedback Sonic. Getting closer to lighting that wick! Thanks for staying with the thread V-pad, it's good to be moving forward again.
Hi , I've been following this build too. I'm going to redo mine in a couple of years but have to decide on the original black or the apricot .Very interesting to see how you do it and looks great .
Getting the first grind started. Finding the hull is in pretty good shape, which sure makes the work a lot easier.
Only a few low areas to build up. Once the first grind gets finished, the blueprinting begins.....
Giddy up!!
Got the first coat of epoxy on the bottom. I'll use 2 coats to help flatten and sharpen all the strakes and trailing edges, then it will get painted.
What product are you using to epoxy the hull with?
Got the first coat of epoxy sanded down and all the edges straight and crisp
