I know it is not a fair comparison, but I much prefer the lines of this 'era' of tunnel hull to the current F1's.
I always liked the 'open' cockpit where you could see the driver, even the early cells were open and you could see the driver.

Also I like that the boat looks like it is going fast and still touching the water...not totally airbourne.
