I did shipwreck photography with archeologists for over 25yrs. Many hrs in water breathing compressed air(even shallow) causing a build up of nitrogen in the long bones. This results in bone end death. When I stopped the constant diving the bone ends started repairing but the problem is that it also causes bone spurs. Sponge divers got it also from long hrs in shallow depths. I also have over 170 dives over 150ft but this was not the problem as I did all my decompression stops and time plus. Now I just play with boats on the surface as

Could stand it no longer, the mess,------ it had to go. Took the Stanley knife and started on the workshop Floor Axminster --------after two hours I had lifted about a third--------rolled it into a nice little roll and placed it next to the dustbin----------FECKIN dustbinman refused to take it, I pay his bloody wages for crying out loud------ungrateful little sh-t doesn't deserve the job. Well there goes his sodding Christmas tip, he can come cap doffing and carolling--------he gets bugger all this year!

Shop looks better already--------will have another go Friday, see if I can lift the rest. Tedious line of work, two hours was plenty for me.

So Gary, you reckon it's ok to just have 8 ounce steak and half a glass of CC7 and just have a little bit of arthritis and gout-discomfort?----------reminds me of the kid who asked if it was ok to just use his left hand and wear glasses ?

PLEASE Jackie.....enjoy life to the max ( BTW I would say you have lived a lot of mens dreams)! I was just lettin ya know what has been workin for me.
Don't forget that I am almost the worst case and I am trying to stay out of a wheelchair. You are just having a "flair up" as my doc calls it and it most likely is weather related also. So have a nice steak and a drink and enjoy! Gary

Does that mean you should decompress longer or maybe breath oxygen after a dive it help prevent this?

Powerabout I did everthing that other divers do and don't have DON. I always put a safety factor in my dive tables. There are commercial divers with a lot more time down than I have..... not everyone has this problem that dives as much as I did. My arthritis most likely has made my condition a lot worse as I was told that some divers may have DON and not know it! Gary

Gary, it sounds to me like you've done your fair share of "living the life"----- it's nice to hear of the "Tricks" that other boaters get up to ---------had a mastoid when I was 14, -------deep end of a swim pool was my maximum dive depth, . 150' must seem like the bottom of the world, and underwater photography must be amazing --------you was right up there with Jaque Cousteau and all the other underwater adventurers.
You can post as many pics here as you like Gary, maybe arthritis is a small price to pay for the fun you had.

Found a nice piece of Cherry for the sponsons and a chunk of my sainted mothers walnut table that turned out to be mahogany for the centre section.
It'll make somebody a nice office piece!

You are correct that it is a three point and a triple pickle. I see the pickle in front of the driver. This should help. I have to congratulate you. I never realized that you have a 37 page "sticky" thread on the Boat Racing Facts dedicated just to you and your accomplishments.

Tried again for half an hour to log onto Boat Facts------a real horses arse problem-------been like that for two years, I finally threw in the towel!
Was going to ask Ron Hill for a picture of his boat, maybe I should use FaceTime !

Haven't been able to get it up, Jackie, I have been back in the mountains for two weeks, and it has rained and snowed for at least 8 or 10 days, the hangar is cold enough to store frozen meat--should have stayed in the desert til first of May??

Fred retired a couple years ago, moved to Colorado, has a 'little unit' nearby. I've known Fred since he was a juvenile (delinquent). Over the years he has collected some nice toys---

Saturday and time for the "FACILITY FORAGE", need some solid alloy billet to get a couple of Rude engines out of, such a damned awkward shape that V4, and the V6 was just plain pug ugly (compared to a Merc, which is of course a piece of art)!

Well, I found a dozen billets that I can cobble a couple of "Rudes" out of. Not much else, nothing exciting.
As always happens when I get towards the end of a "Concept" I can see exactly what I should have done------so I spent the last couple of hours cutting out Snapper2, using the last of my cherry wood, hard as bloody nails, but if I can get JOHN Schubert involved in the finishing it could turn out to be a beautiful boat.
Send you a couple of pickies close of play today-----need to build a storage shed, or call it a day, tearing the carpet up came at a cost, everything hurts, chest, arms, legs, back. This time I'm going to retire and watch porny films. Eat chocolate and donuts, join the rest of the overweight and obese fat bastards that frequent our cities

Jackie I highly recommend you get some soft rubber mats to stand on as you can shake them out when dirty. I can't work on concrete floors without them. Gary

Good idea Gary, I had mats in my old workshop-------take em up and hang em on the fence while I swept out the shop.
Been beavering away at snapper two--------put a lot of things right on this one------really should try hard and make a decent facsimile of the Rudes--------it's like trying to smile while you swallow bile.

Decided I'm heading towards retirement gently, was told by her who shall be obeyed at all times to cut down on the hours------five hours a day max. with the shop closed Saturday and Sunday.
After the carpet lifting fiasco, I'm giving up on the physical side , bloody chest, back, thighs and unmentionable place aches told me to knock it off!
Paying somebody else to lift the rest. No doubt about it, shop floor is easier to keep clean and tidy without the Axminster.
Big commission seems to be dead in the water, made a bunch of concepts for them to choose from, but was a total waste of time------communications dried up a while back, so if you hear of anyone wanting about ten heavyweight "Concepts" for very little dinero, call me.
Temperatures creeping up little by little, still get frost in the mornings and the winds still bitterly cold, won't be getting sunburnt any time soon. Have a nice day !

You could say either but scale wise I can see V-4's.Yes I'll be happy to give it the "brush"!

Nearly through with them JOHN, first one is all but, second "Snapper" has mind boggling motors but a disappointing body--------sponsons are too short. Maybe able to save it from the bin by making it into a four pointer, but it will be far removed from the original !
Number one still needs a pair of gearcases------looks like that's the one I'll be sending you John along with Rogers hydro which I've been meaning to send since before Christmas. Was hoping the RC guy was going to send a bunch of props, but he's gone awfully quiet!

Came across some brass props that would do nicely-------problem is, they're in Hong Kong and cost about 12 pounds each.
Dont much like sending out concepts that are unfinished--------but if I had to put props on all the stuff I've done, the cost would be horrendous.
Even thought about Pilgrims suggestion of casting my own wheels-------I really do worry about messing with hurt materials.
