correct me if im wrong............last krs built there, 168hp?,ccc was like 279 i believe,there were some 2.6 gts that were in the 270 range,I beilieve a 280 hp ficht and then of course the x crank 3.0 at 325, are we in the ball park?And i beleive there may even be a 290 etec pushin over 500lbsft???i want to know, what was the 727, u remember?
Yep that 727 V6 was a killer I was told. The OMC Hierachy would not release it. Jim Nerstrom said it was way better than the V6 that was actually released.

Basically would be the key word as in a 90 degree 6. Remember a lot of the factory torque numbers are with the gear ratio multiplier when taking shaft hp numbers.

IMO it is the best way to do it on a looper. With the probes in the adaptor you're reading an entire cylinder bank, have too much chance of faulty readings due to excess fuel in over rich conditions and the bottom two holes are always the hottest so by tuning based on them we are building in a safety factor for the rest of the motor i.e. with those two holes perfect the other 4 should be a tad rich.
Using that specific head bolt hole it puts the probe right in the center of the exhaust port just outside the cylinder.

Gary,I was wondering if you could use a wide-band O2 sensor on an outboard.Back in my mustang hayday we used them because they were more accurate than egts.I didnt know if anyone had tried it on an outboard yet.

I have been tempted to go with an electric pump but I just can't let go of the old reliable VRO fuel pump. With oil-line blocked of course.
I have several VRO pumps, That is one of the Best pumps by far. I just could not bring myself to mount one of those jarvic hearts next to the evolution intake.. I had to do somthing different. These are off a 2.6GT. Twin pumps, twin pulse lines from seperate cylinders. Simple and Sweet!
I've always wondered about this, I have yet to see a carb sled with an electric pump, although they mostly have no battery. :rolleyes: Some of them run stupid high RPM. But really, are there cases when a stock pump is not enough?
Carbs on a mod motor may require an extra pump like in my case.
The hassles and extra maintaince and finaly a new pump failure at the worst possible time was the last straw.
Where did you get them?
on most carb sleds, the carb pumps it's own fuel, bein a diafram style.
most racin outboards called for an electric pump.:cool:
