I think I might just try baystar and see how it works if does not work very well I'll take it out my only concern is the helm size is being different I don't want to have the boat painted and then have to redo the helm hole, maybe I will put the boat in in the water before pain see how it runs the de rig it all.
My helm hole is larger than all helms. I have an 1/8" thick piece of aluminum that covers the hole... SO all I do if I ever wanted to switch it up, is cut out a new 1/8" thick helm plate. My steering helm bolts to the 1/8" plate, and the plate bolts to the dash. I think it's way stronger than just being bolted to the dash.
Okay so we got a little progress done, and the floor is finally glued down will be glassed down hopefully soon. What I came up with for the steering system is that basically the
Bay star system as a whole would probably work but the helm is the limiting factor as far as responsiveness, so I found a guy who wants to buy my Baystar helm and for 175$ more I can but the Seastar pro helm with the better valves etc. They have the same fittings so should bolt up. I will be using the regular hoses not the Kevlar, but with 60 hp I doubt it will need the reinforced ones, it will basically be a Seastar system with batstar ram and hoses. Guess we will see if it works or not.

Yep used plenty, the deck sat perfect on top of everyting. So im sure it squished out and is touching everywhere. Even now the deck feels solid.
So as you see the stringer was completely filled with foam and then completely sealed off with some Arjay and two layers of glass, then the floor was set on top and let dry. Today we got all the foam under the floor in, I will be cleaning out all the holes we drilled and putting new plugs of h80 in with some bonding compound on top of the foam in the holes, then will be glassed over. The sides will be sanded up nicely where there was a little space left for the foam to escape and not buckle the floor, any gaps will be filled with some more Arjay leveled out sanded then glassed over. As you can see all the foam will be completely sealed. So hopefully that will keep all water out. Everything that's getting bolted to the floor will have a hole cut out and coosa plug popped in so I will not be drilled into the floor.

Got some work done today as I am fortunate to have off for a Jewish holiday, at least that what the school board says..
Anyway Kieth came up with a great idea, when he drilled the holes to pour the foam, he never drilled through both layer with the bigger bit, this created a "shelf" or a ledge for the new plug to sit on so it wouldn't sink over time. I cleaned out all the holes, put some putty in them and put a new plug in each hole and let all the putty squish out around the plug.

So the idea wasn't all mine, my other glass guy suggested it. He says that hes seen the plugs show though after years, with lightweight layups. So better safe than sorry.
You have about the 2 gals of liquid foam mix like planned in the hull?

Luckily most of the foam did fit under the floor. Fit a little more than i thought. It frees up above deck area. I think there is about 1 cubic foot left. So like he said itll be in a small box up front. It's as full as it can be. Feels really solid. He's doing a great job cutting and fitting everything. I think he's realizing how solid this boat will be.
Boat? More like a little tank....
