And within a few months, some good logic provided dies for this machine to cast shapes that were previously considered impossible. The very familiar front halves of the Merc 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder motors

Fujimo here is the Gainesville distributorship dealer you mention. Roy Ridgell (the younger guy in the photo) was working at Baird Hardware, and he later segued way into working at the Mercury Sarasota facility, and then later Mercury Lake X. Beginning his 30+ year career with Mercury Marine.
