Unbelievable...You have taken us into every aspect of Mercury manufacturing from outboards to inboards to outdrives to props and more. Pictures the actual furnaces, the casting departments, inspections, assembly departments, painting departments and so much more. You have taken us were very few will ever be able to go. This is not longer just a thread - it is an education. Have no idea. I have learned one thing over the years regarding the various brands of V-6 outboards, whether in a single engine application, or a multiple... A 300 horse, is a 300 horse...a 150 horse is a 150 horse...etc., etc., etc... They all will produce the same performance numbers on a given hull, given minor setup variables. Your example of comparison has many, many variables. Different hulls, gearcases & ratios, propellers, installed heights, max rpm's, etc.Quote:
