Oh but i did enjoy florida [Miami in particular] during the 70/s80/sand 90’s. Was privileged to race at the marine stadium—-pelican Harbour in my own right——-we took the world Fonda series to the Miami Marine stadium in the 80/s. Walt Yarborough used to do all our commentating although he did not do the marine stadium race ?????? I was asked to assist the people who did it [damned if i can remember why???]. Fonda series was a genuine world wide series for boats with a 2 litre max eng capacity. Open to all makes of motor with a 2 litre capacity. Promotors was JBS. Under the leadership of David Parkinson. Remembered for all the sponsors he brought into circuit powerboat racing.
