Had a box for his JC SHOW AT THE ALBERT HALL .
Have come to the end of my visit to “THE SEEBOLDS” saying goodbye will be particularly hard to do!
Have to face the reality that i am coming up 92 and hardly likely to make another trip——- Billy has this damnable ALS for which there is no known cure . When i saw him at the OFF meeting i knew i had to spend some “QUALITY TIME”with him. Enjoyed every minute with him and Lynne. We have laughed a lot and shed a silent tear on a regular basis, there is absolutely no substitute for true friendship.
My daughter Sam and son Mark are coming over in December to spend time with Billy and Lynne . Sam wants to buy a boat and Billy is going to help them pick the right one.
But right now Billy and I are leaving for our last game of golf together .
Hey Jackie, the pic is Merten at Havasu, 1968. He had a buddy that owned a popular college bar in Oshkosh called Andy's Library. Andy sponsored Mert for that race. Above the T125 you can see some lettering ..... I believe it says Andy's Library Bar.Quote:

Had better days in my life ——- Billy was waning after four holes —so we called it A day after nine holes. Coming up to the hard bit now -Lynne meeting Mark at the far end of the Everglades so he does not have to drive there and back tonight———been a wonderful week and we laughed our. Way through it. Another couple of hours and we say goodbye—- that. Will be the hard bit >

Arrived at “Dunkin Donuts” in Weston a couple of hours after we left Naples——Mark took a half hour more —— traffic was insane ___ we talked and laughed for a couple of hours , not wanting to say goodbye but time waits for no one !!!!!!!!!!
Parting was not as the bard says——“such sweet sorrow”——was horrendously emotional. All four of us went into a huddle !!!!! Afraid it was all too much for SEEBOLD and me —— tears flowed for a long while [BIG BOYS DO CRY] BUT AFTERWARDS WE WATCHED BILLY AND LYNNE LEAVE ——- END OF MY VISIT AND AN ERA

I'm lucky enough to say that I have met Bill a few times. I bought my Seebold SE boat from him way back in 1978.
Mark Rotharmel and I spent quite a bit of time talking with him at the Havasu reunion a couple of years ago.
Get Bill talking about Bristol and get ready to be fascinated.
