I did most of my racing in front of 44in 50s. The early versions had the same issues as all Mercurys at the time. The crankshafts would break at the flywheel, they would occasionally swallow a reed, break a swivel pin and in the very early propjet motors the rear bearing carrier was a little weak. I experienced all of these issues except reed valve failure. By the time I stopped running them in 1975 all of those issues had been fixed. If you had enough oil in your gas and the water pump didn't fail or get obstructed a 50 would run all day at WOT with no problem.
WELL—nearly 92 and “UNINSURABLE” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year for two whole weeks in florida —medical cover cost me $3,000.
same insurance this year flat refused to cover me at any cost ????i have been travelling to the USA for the last 63 years ——- every time i visit , i take out medical cover [ do not ever be sick and jobby without medical insurance]. In all that time i never made a claim, except for leaving my spectacles on the plane ——-they refused to pay that one.
ROTWEILER will not allow me to travel without medical insurance——-so if anyone out there knows any insurance company that will sell me medical insurance , please let me know or my florida trip is in jeopardy.!!!!!
...insurance is a waste of money. always has been...
Jackie have you tried Staysure Single Trip cover
Hey Jackie, I agree with Fujimo at our age insurance is just a waste. You’re on the short side of life anyway. You seem to be healthy as a horse except for maybe some of your mental capacities lol but we don’t wanna miss you coming to America just because of a technicality anyway, even though we don’t have socialized medicine like you do, you do qualify under that special status called” immigrant” and oddly enough, you are a legal one. Everything in this country is free to immigrants whether legal or illegal the American taxpayer will bear the burden or anything you want from cell phones to schooling to new cars to job placement. We are a wonderful country. So all you have to do if you do get sick over here and show up at any of the county general hospitals, proclaim your status as an immigrant and with your broken English they won’t understand you anyway, you’ll be treated fairly equitably and probably be asked to stay in the country and nominated for a governor ship at the very least or maybe even a presidential candidate in the next election. At least you can walk upstairs getting on the plane without tripping our current president on his best day is a 50-50 shot.! Worst case scenario, I run a public recovery room and can take you in get you a good looking nurse, a.k.a. hooker and I’m not a bad cook. Best always a Amberjack.
Again, Jackie, don’t let this insurance thing hold you up from coming over. Worst case scenario I have a friend in the funeral business does cheap cremations and I will personally guarantee the price of the DHL envelope to ship your ashes back to Merry old England, so that you don’t have to bear the expense of our over priced funerals here in the US. So we got all avenues covered. Best wishes Amberjack.
...funny as hell charlie, but all true just the same...lol...
Somebody said “bet you can’t do the Red Baron dad “—— was one of my kids of course !!!!!!!!!Attachment 524887
Never tried a TRI-PLANE before ———needless to say the first attempt was binned ——- but i have some idea of what not to do!!!!!!!!
I’m pretty sure most of you out there have heard of “Dinky Toys” ?????? But i doubt anyone ever heard of the all new —solid aluminium and brass “Winky Toys”. It’s a new range of the worlds most expensive range of small Power boats . No bigger than a dinky toy , but with a starting price tag 0f $250 a pop. [how do them apples grab you Seebold ?????].
Billy is still a moaning and a bitching over the price he paid for the 1907 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost he bought from me>. Fact is its doubled in price since he bought it. !!!!!!!!!! Attachment 524888
Have not been sat on my arse this last week—- simply been too damn busy to tell you about it. Been doing the demented Gippetto bit trying to get enough product to light up the poker run village down at key west 5th to the 11th november!

Somewhere in there is Scotty B’s silver ghost—-Billy SEEBOLDS——Craig Wilsons—-Mark Wilsons——SAM WILSONS—-Gary Stray’s. —-Rich LUHRS ——and i still have the ALL GOLD SILVER GHOST.
STILL HAVE ONE FOR CADDY BUT HE’S SAVING UP FOR IT!!!!!!!!
MADE 16 IN ALL UP TO NOW
Have always thought laterally and created what I wanted ——-strayed a way off the beaten track on occasions . Fallen flat on my face occasionally ——and i sometimes surprised myself and got it right.
Aircraft of any description are talked about a lot but seldom purchased. Same thing with Rolls Royce Silver Ghosts. People love the romance of an idea — but when it comes to shelling out hard cash, folk can be amazingly “Busy” and otherwise engaged but will “bear it in mind” !!!!
Manfred Von Richthofen” [The red Baron] was a World War One fighter pilot who was credited with over 80 “Kills” ——controversy still rages of who shot him down !!!!!
Some even claim it was Eddie Rickenbacker. ??????
i figure he did enough to have me create [with a bit of artists licence] one of my fernaglings !!!!!!
proving to be a tad more demanding than your average Cessna or Piper !!!!!
Still KNICKERS UP AND BOX ON !!!!!!!!!
