Rich, the official CT gov link above implies no speed limit on weekends after Labor Day (except no wake zones):
"(C) A 45 MPH limit, from 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset, Monday through Friday, inclusive, during all seasons, and on Saturdays and Sundays from the Saturday following Labor Day to the Friday preceding Memorial Day."
Never mind. I read it wrong! (I think)
rich 1 more for pizza
Well I just ordered 85 pizzas (who the hell does that)
***Long Island -Ct River Ironmen SOB Sunday crossing UPDATE :***
--------------------------------------------------------------
Trailers Meeting time: 7am off LIE exit 60 east service Rd. Red Lobster parking lot.
Leave time: 7:15 am
Ramp: Mattituck Creek Waterway Access State park ....2 lane ramp/washdown/Privies/60 car parking.
Directions:
LIE to end, head north to Sound Avenue east through the Town of Riverhead. At the first traffic light in Mattituck, turn left onto Cox Neck Lane. Stay on Cox Neck Lane to Breakwater Road, turn left, follow to Naugles Road and turn right, entrance is one-quarter mile down on left side.
Travel to Ct River will be 7 miles more by water but travel time to Ramp is 13 miles less then to (Last Years) Greenport's Norman Klipp Park beach ramp.
Water conditions call at this time for Morning average of 2' calming to 1' late afternoon/ evening VS. 3-4' Orient Point crossing point.
Round trip est. for total run and back home now approx. 175 miles.
Run back could be very high speed if conditions cooperate to 1'. :D
Trip saves 26 miles driving further out east and adds 14 mile boating travel in calmer waters. Extra boating distance amounts to running in GSB from Tanner park East to the Fire Island bridge and back.
Travel time to CT River should be about the same as all boats will be able to run faster.
Any Questions ?
Ok. But what is the speed limit on weekends from Mem Day to Lab Day? Less than 45?
