Can we find a picture of the famous Mercruiser stainless steering wheel with rubber grip wouldn`t slide when the spray hit you the UK boatbuilders fitted these in the late 60s and 70s it was the only thing that kept you in the boat in a rough race when you bent it by trying to hang on. At the pitstop someone could jump in the boat and straighten it ready for the next driver to have a go.
So according to this lineup in 1994 Mercury was still making the 4cyl 44in motors. They just called it a 40. When did they finally stop building those motors?
...although styled differently than what your used to...;)...it looks like 1997 was the last year. pretty sure anyways...
