Need some help identifying a vintage Seebold that I am currently restoring. I've been several day now stripping off several layers of paints and primers. I do not have the original rear cowl and the front had been stripped, so they have been no help with identification.
It boils down to this: The 1st layer is a gray primer with mostly a light Blue color (robbin's egg blue). The next layer is a black primer with msotly a black color with bright blue accent color. Beyond that are some yellow, silver stripe and solid red.
Mark Rotharmel sent me a photo from August 1979 at Hamilton, Ontario. In the photo (back to front) are: Ken Stevenson, Oley Berkis (#44), Art Kennedy (#2), and Mark Rotharmel. I read that Mark's boat in this picture was Billy Seebold's 1978 boat. The paint I am finding on the 2nd layer indicates it might be that boat. --> Can anyone verify what the paint scheme was on Bill's 1978 boat?? If it had a lot of light blue, then I am quite sure I have that hull. BTW, the #44 hull is very close, but I see blue vs red in the accent areas. Post any pictures if you have them

I believe the photo below is from St. Louis 1978. When comparing the two photos, it appears that Mark is driving what was Seebold's #190 in the picture below and Berkis appears to be in what was the #241 that was driven by Earl Benz.

Peter, thanks for the reply. Mark called me yesterday and we had a long talk about this and other boats. He said it was toothpicks after the blowover. BUT! He also said that Bill had a back-up boat painted that way. Will probably go with that paint scheme if I can't find any further definition of what hull mine is. BTW, we'll be making molds for the front / back 2nd generation cowls if all works out well next week. Obviously there were several other Seebolds painted similar in '78 (reggi + Benz and Oley +?) Thanks for your help Y'all....have a great 4th
