I must dig up a few of those old photos where people plastered transomes with 5-6 OMC SeaDrives and they got laughed at.
It’s really amazing the new Mercury 12 cylinder engine friend of mine who is about 57 or eight it’s the next one at Palm Beach boat show last spring barely came up to the bottom of the pans. There were a lot of them at the show and at the Lauderdale show. TheyDon’t seem to be filtering down to the dealers, the boat manufacturers are getting them but in limited numbers. I personally would like to have seen one of the 4litre V8 OMCs from the past with the latest Etec fuel injection systems make a run at the market. Maybe not 600 hp but it easy 500 and still less weight I think the fuel economy for a giant two-stroke engineWould be very credible. Just my thoughts.

Merc will NLA the ecu and its all over for the engine.
Maybe not in 10 years but certainly in the future we will revert back to being Blow boaters like our great great great grandfather‘s the pilgrims. You may be able to boat up and down the intercoastal with your electric motor but I don’t believe the technology Will have advanced far enough for offshore floating charging stations for your electric motor Technical advancements are a great thing but sometimes I wonder
