Getting near the end now :thumbsup: Hard to tell from the pictures ... Did you put a bead of filler down with a gunk bag, and then lay the glass straight onto the wet filler? Eliminates voids, holds the glass into the tight corner, and provides a much stronger joint.
Yes Greg, that's exactly how it was done. Picked up a dispensor thats used for cake decorating and made the paste of epoxy/filler consistancy similar to cake frosting. After it was clamped, the excess was wiped off before it kicked. Lookining from the inside of the hull, there were no visible voids.Quote:

Now that the deck is reunited with the hull, it was time to get it off the jig. When the jig was built, it was screwed together so that it could be easily disassembled/reassembled. It is available for anyone that may be interested in it for their recore project. It is currently in the Indianapolis area and will soon be in southeastern Michigan. If it doesn't get spoken for, it will become shelving.

Looks like my Viper will be finishing it's restoration in Southern Michigan. Got it loaded on the trailer and took it for a "rough" ride this afternoon to see how things will travel. It's about a 4 hour trip of mostly highway. When you look at the pics, understand things are just roughed in till I get there. I'm building a new shop and progress will slow down for a bit on the Viper.
After bouncing the rig down some crappy roads, checked the transom to see if there was any signs of stress. Pretty sure with the 1/4" t-6061 aluminum plate on the back, the knees built into the transom along with the added gussets screwed and glassed into the splashwell, transom fatigue and/or sheer won't be an issue.

I like those gussets you added to the well to help stiffen it up. It should help with the raised transom.
Where did you get those rigging adaptors you have attaching the hose to the well?

The Viper jig has been spoken for and will be going to Michigan for a bicentennial rebuild. Was told it would be available again after that rebuild was completed. Very happy to see that it will be helping keep the hydrostream culture alive.Quote:
