Was chrysler first with electronic ignition on outboards?
They had it on the 105 early, 66 or 67, the first ones had a hummmmm sound, the second one in 70 -71 without the hum.
Chrysler came out with a CD ignition box in 1967 but it still used points as the sensor to trigger the spark. They didnt go to full "pointless" ignition system till 1974.
They continued to se a distributor without points until 1977 when thet came out with the first solid state , all under the flywheel ingnition system on the 2 cylinder 60 hp. After that all the other nodels followed suit within a year or two.
I think chrysler cars had it first hence my question
