Very interesting info Steverino. I did find this picture also, the info above is maybe not one you like but you were part of the big deal.
1970 was the first year I got the inside look at powerboat racing.
I started working for Heidi Blomberg Marin in Stockholm early 1970 and Heidi and her husband Bengt was heavily involved in tunnel boat racing.
Not sure what happen for them in Paris 1970 driving the #68 OI boat. I left Heidi Blomberg Marin later 1970 for Kenty Sjoholm. He was the Swedish distributor/dealer for Carniti and also Bimba Sjoholms dad.
Many good memories working for Kenty.
Regarding powertrims..
Yes I remember 1970 was the powertrim war..many private drivers like Ulf Backman with boat #24 was upset. He did not get a powertrim for his Evinrude Starflite in Paris and on top of that drove all 6 hours by himself..
First is your picture
Second is my letter from Heidi Blomberg Marin when I left for Kenty. ( sorry for Swedish only but its a very good letter):)
A few Carniti pictures. Look close at the second Carniti powerhead picture..3 OMC fuelpumps..!!
Paris entry list with Heidi & Bengt Blomberg
The last one is the #24 Ulf Backman in Paris without powertrim.
One more note..
At this time in my life..17 years old I was already 100% sure to be involved with Evinrude racing and a dream of one day be an exclusive Evinrude dealer.
