Boat looks great joe, good running with you. Wish i would have made it to the start of the run but **** happens. I hope your son has a few pictures and videos of us making a few passes. I stayed out and made a few more passes after you went in
I just hate the steering it has an HC535 with a pro helm, either I change it to an HC635 or I go side mount, Im just not sure
Are you sure its the steering? Could be the stock (and somewhat soft) upper mounts contributing to the problem.
Then again, if you have to pull the powerhead to install the solid upper mounts, might as well add the wing plate while you're at it.
And just for the record, I have a Latham side ram / wing plate system on my boat and have always preferred the feel over a front mount / tiller arm system. I think the greater leverage that the side ram gives is also a great safety factor. Not to mention that everything is beefier than the stock tiller arm.
Dirk you know you will never be happy with anything short of side arm
Are your gears 185.1? Thats very impressive setup if it is. I punched the numbers on mercs prop slip calculator. If your rpm was 5900-6000 at 90mph thats only 6-8 % slip! Thats mighty efficient. Now if you can turn a 34 to 5900 rpm with the same efficiency that will get you right at 95. Better yet find a 36...to 5800 = 100....:reddevil:
put the 300X on there and stop fooling around
Dirk,
Is there a way to find out if the motor is making full power? does break in possibly limit timing or fuel in a protective way?
That boat is very light 300 HP should get that thing closer to triple digits.
Billy it really isnt 300hp from what I was told, Kevin can tell us exactly, I think like 260ish, and dont forget the blue one with the G2 is doing 96mph with a lot of setup time and that 32 hydromotive which I cant get till the spring, and yes the motor can still be in break in, I bet theres not 2hrs running time over 1500 rpm
