Answer from Caldwell Racing Technology LLC
WOW...!!
For exactly one hour ago I did send Caldwell Racing Technology LLC an e-mail and asked what the deal was at the Abu Dhabi UIM F1 race.
I did not expect a fast answer but 15 minutes later I did get the full story in two emails.
CRT gave me the OK to place the full email answers here at my "S&F Fact thread"..
(I can add that I was pretty close in my guess..!!)..The CRT engine was not allowed to race. Only do a few practice laps.
Enjoy and Thank you very much Caldwell Racing Technology LLC.
First answer:
Lars,
"Yes , the CRT motor must go through homologation first . We were going to run in the free practice only. The boat that we were going to put the motor on had a busted leaking fuel cell . They tried to repair but ran out of time. With mostly all teams getting ready for the actual race , there was no option to run it"
Second answer:
Lars,
"Yes , we have started the process .
We will have the motors (CRX f2 and the CR F1 ) on display at the APBA year conf. in Orlando early Feb. We will attend all meetings pertaining to the future of these motors in APBA and UIM events. We also plan to be in the pro marine booth in Miami with the motors .
We will answer all questions and work hard to acomidate all the applications at both events.
PS, You can let the guys know what took place. Both messages is OK"
