Brian
I think that's Jackie wearing the Tam
No, wasn't holding out or testing. Just didn't realize I hadn't posted it before. It's a strange combination.....a C6 single pipe on a BP lower unit and then strapped on the back of a short Checkmate. None of that really seems to go together. Seems like that powerhead should have been matched with an SSM and then the whole thing should have been mounted on something that could handle all that horsepower. As I recall, it turned out to be too much for the Checkmate. Gordon gave it a heck of a run, but it didn't take a big miscue to send the little boat up, up and over.
SCT asked if I have any more photos of this boat or any Checkmates period. Here is one more of the tunnel driven by Gordon Downard and one of a twin driven by Bill Combs at Havasu in 1968. I think the V twim was 19'er. Combs and Gordon's father Bill owned Checkmate.
I see the other tunnel shot in my folder, but it doesn't transfer to manage attachments for some reason. I'll post it if I can get that figured out. Here is the V Twim! :o
I know I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but since the S&F format was changed.....man, I have a lot of trouble posting. I have to log in every time. Then, if I want to say something I either have to log in again before it will accept reply or have to log in again after I try to post what I said. A few times I have written a rather lengthy responce to something only to lose it when I click submit. The "you are not logged in" bar shows up and when I log in again, what I had written has disappeared.
Pictures are even a bigger pain. When I clicked manage attachments, it gave me my folder names. I could open the appropriate folder and select what I was looking for. This new format has all of my pictures in one big folder. I have to go through it page by page to find the shot I want to post. I finally just decided to post the written words and then go back to edit the post with pictures if and when I found them.
Anyway, sorry for the no pictures with the post, but I'm doing the best I can with the limited skill I have.....Jackie, this one's too easy for you to mess with.....just keep a lid on it! :D
Don't worry about Jackie......He's never known how to post a picture
Do you have any more photos of Molly and her boat?
Mark N
ain't that the truth. Just done a long reply to Willa and the stupid sodding follow up told me i did not have enough wotsits so cobblers---thats the reason i don't do S&F anymore.
