How fast is the boat with the OMC?

Hey Greg. Beautiful job. I like it.
Norternoffshore, I put the tank back in the way Velocity did them. Few strips of carpet under the tank, some foam down sides and glassed a separate section of floor over the top. When I first dissected one of these we realized that by putting the floor in in 3 sections its much stronger. Having the starboard and port sides glassed down the sides of the stringers and then up the side of the boat adds a lot more strength and bonded surface area then just bonding underneath to the top of the stringer with 407. Oh and before we glassed the floor in we also bonded it and weighted it in with 407 as well. Velocity had a great idea it make the boat real solid.
Greg I did a similar cross bridge on my 31 Sutphen. I had Aluminum knees tied into 4" angle when I had twins. Then when I went to triples I added a set of knees to the outside and a triple 3/4" laminated bridge that ties into the angle. Put the knees on the ends so there wouldn't be a sheer problem against the hull in the corners. There really not knees but they spread the load.

Here's the other picture I was looking for before. Shows the stringer as half the knee with the 2nd 3/4" bonded and ends at the 2nd bulkhead. First bulkheads are in in this picture. Far side just has to trimmed and caped over the stringer and knee.

Greg, is that a Velocity in the picture with all the transom work? If so you got any pictures of it. If its not its still ok to put a picture up I guess, LOL.
Hey ActiveFun. That 3.6 had some issues that we just couldn't figure out in the end and as a result he was only getting about 78 out of it. At one time it ran high 80s. I had a Kevlar hull with a 3.6 a little warmed over that ran 91, but all these speeds were on Medallion speedos for what ever that's worth so I would say even a little slower???
started to make the fairing ...( eliminateing the crappy windshield) glassed the knees and put the fuel tank in .. still have to put a couple of cross stringers in
getting farther slowly on this project.. Copied the splash well design from another member.. fitted the bracket abd got a 250xb for it...
I recently purchased a 1986 22 Velocity. Since the purchase I stuck a piston on the 250xs that it came with and I have powered it with a 300xs. I am trying to figure out what would be the best setup for this boat. I have a 1.75 torque master or a 1.62 sport master. What would be the better lower to run? How about for a prop? What do these boats like? Its been so long since I have been in a V bottom with a pad that I am very rusty on driving one.
Thanks for the input!
Don
Congrats! Four blade prop. I would call BBlades. Boat likes trim
You still have this boat ?
My 22 with a 2.5 260 loved a met lighting et
I've tried a lot of props and the best one has been a promax 4 blade prop. Your going to want to run the sport master because you want the engine to be high. I have an 85 velocity with a 300 merc and a 28 pitch promax and I hit 86 with 10 gallons of fuel and by myself .
Can you text me some pics? I wanna ask u a few questions 239-867-6872
Anyone know what size fuel tanks these boats come with? Trying to setup my vessel view system with the correct capacity information, plus I'd like to more accurately know when it's time to refuel and not just go based off the fuel gauge.
