Yes, Sort of... The original Flyin Flivvers were rated for 30hp and built by Moderne Cabinet Works in MN and came in red or Yellow with the wings over the air chambers. Hurst Flivers were built in Winter Haven and did have the foam filled sponsons. Noles, Osborne and Cypress Gardens (Hains) also built different styled flat top sponson Flivers.

I wear one on my Flivver, and Benjamin is wearing one in this video. Don't make us out to be bad people Zebra :)

xr1million - sounds like a really fun project. that'll be a fast boat with the setup you're working on! I agree with Mark75H and others that you should definitely use a good PFD (preferably a racing jacket with collar) and a kill switch and preferably a helmet. there's an easy way and a hard way to find out what a 50+mph crash feels like.
have fun and be safe!
This thread was from 2008 and I believe XR sold his Flivver. However Benjamin Darlington has an 11ft flivver with a shorty Merc 650 tiller running 56MPH in the video that I posted above. I believe he had it to 61.4MPH last fall.

That was from popular mechanics we sold so many from this article. Both my parents worked at Cypress Gardens and they were used in the ski show, my dad did corky the clown some of the time.
Hi Jimmy...I sure do. its been in dry storage he last couple of years though. I was thinking about bringing it out to drink some $10/gal gas though - Almost there.

Yes some great times, I feel bad that my son has not got to do half the stuff I did. The first and only time I have had to go to court was from running the canals in a fliver wide open and the game warden was at the end of the canal waiting for me. :)
Back in the day, we were throwing m-80s in the water, the marine patrol was parked right next to us.. now thats stupid. they towed us away, not a good day.
I found this the other day 45 Yeats ago, running a 9.9 with a 15 carb I beat my brother in this race, we went 1, 2.Attachment 528833
