Years ago, I read a book by a card shark that did card tricks for entertainment. An individual offered him a proposition to be his house poker dealer at the guy’s house games. He started dealing games at the guy’s mansion in Beverly Hills.
The rules were to deal winning hands to the host late at night. So, the host will profit at the end of the poker sessions. One evening one of the guests ran out of money, so the guy reaches into his chest area under his blazer jacket.
And brings out and lays down a revolver handgun on the poker table. He then tells the group this gun is worth X dollars. And the guys agree and lets the gun owner to continue to play.
The lightbulb went on for the card trick dealer. In the book, he became aware of what kind of clientele was playing at the private poker game in Beverly Hills. That was his final game. Thereafter, he made excuses, and the poker host accepted his exit and termination from dealing at the private poker game. Living is more important than risking your life for an easy paycheck.
