University of Washington and Johnson and Johnson are trying to fast track a vaccine instead of a year or more away Sept. looks like the goal aparently a big discovery was made out in Washington. Still use common sense but it's going to be beat and we will return and hopefully they open the boat ramps.
Watched a show on Polio on PBS the other night. The parallels are amazing. Jonas Salk came up with the first vaccine and there was another researcher taking a different route. The other guy cautioned using Salk's method as it had not been tested thoroughly. Salk actually tested on his own family. First vaccines were shots and the other guy finally got his working ad it was taken orally. How many of you guys are old enough to remember the sugar cubes in school?
Rock
The old sugar cube, the only good part about shot day. I remember when they first started using the air injection. I was scared about getting that thing in my arm, I was in 3-4th grade, I think. I even went to the end of the line just to put it off a little longer. Then when it was just the person in front of me and myself they ran out of medicine in the air injector.. So the person in front of me and myself got the sugar cube instead of the injection.
So no round scar on my arm.
Still have the scar on my left arm from that injection and scab.
I always wondered where that scar came from.
