I really like the way the old 1750's run. They had the big open exhaust chest and large exhaust outlets at the adapter. The next generation 2.0 had a lot more stuffing in the exhaust chest. It has the "ant trails" along with the top of the chest cavity being closed off where it was previously open.
I got to looking at one of my 1750 blocks and an old '81 150 block I had laying around. I got out the grinder and spent a few minutes roughing out the chest and exhaust outlet...

I'm thinking this may have better flow and more stuffing than the original 1750 configuration so it should run better? If I can scrape together enough parts to assemble an engine I may finish this block out and put it together...
