Does anyone have any feedback on the BBlades Blaster? Reading some older posts about reports of durability issues with the Lab finish. Has there been any updated feedback on that end?
Interested on what the 27-32' Twin OB guys have to say about them.
The BBLades Blaster is the same prop from the same casting and foundry as one of the Ron Hill props. Im drawing a blank on the Hill prop model name. My advice would be to buy the cheaper version from Hill and have it worked specifically to your boat if you go this route and have a good prop guy. Hill might even sell you an unfinished one. BBLades does great work but their lab props I have seen certainly are thin and I dont think the gains are worth the reduced longevity and risk of damage.

The 4 blade Performance Propeller SC4 and Drag4 are also similar options and IMO opinion a better quality prop.
Thanks Demeanor. Not looking to have anything worked and much rather have durability over marginal gains.
They run great! (until they throw a blade) Happen to me twice.

That is my understanding. Hills foundry also produces prop for others as well. As far as where the durability issues come from, Im not sure. If ist failing due to casting defects then I would say it falls on the foundry or on the specs for material asked for. If its failing because of being thin or other finishing work then it falls on who does the work. That being said, if you want a thin prop you have to accept that its not going to be as reliable.Quote:

On a similar note, I see a lot of guys running surfacing props with little nicks and dings. Those flaws will eventually cause a failure and the thinnner the prop the sooner. Props should be inspected and "cleaned up" of any little flaws constantly. Most dont give much thought to the stress that a anty prop much less a surfacing prop goes through. When you think about the loading/unloading of a prop being punched into the water by hundreds of horsepower at speeds approaching supersonic its amazing they last at all.
I have a hill eagle and a bravo copy from ron also.... call him direct nice guy that likes to talk can def get a discount on multiple order
I had a dr4 that I lost figured i would try a eagle being that it is 1/2 the price good prop but 4 mph slower maybe worked it would perform better, although i also heard the blaster's throw blades
