And the next prop I should try is???

Ok so, my boat is a 188 spyder (it's 19.2ft bow to stern) pad vee style hull, running an e-tec 225HO with a 10" set back and 22p 3 blade raker. With this I'm running 62mph @ 5800rpm with room to jack up still(I loose speed if I go higher) This weekend I tried a 24p and a 25p in hope of gaining and I did not. I get a more stable 62mph on the 24p and I can't run my jack any higher without loosing speed. I'm wondering if I may be at a point where the only benefits I see are with a cleaver or a chopper. Now I know that one provides stern lift and one provides bow lift, but I also came across the ET as well. I need some input on what I should be testing next and what I should be expecting. Things like thru hub or over hub exhaust are above what I know. Am I maxed out at 62? Or can I find my way to 70 with prop magic??? Help please.

If you can't go higher you need more diameter, pitch won't help if the diameter is to small.

All the props I tested with are 14 1/2" but I'm sure bigger shouldn't be a problem. But should I expect to see any different results in testing a cleaver or a chopper? 4 blade or 3?

After countless hours on google and reading other forums, learning the lingo, the science, the physics and what does what, I have one question I would like all your input on..... Is there any time a cleaver is beneficial on a vee style hull? The general consensus is that they work best on hulls with "natural bow lift." And have limited applications on vee hulls. I would like to know if anyone has had it work on a vee hull and what they saw.

IMO cleavers are great for light Vs with as you said natural bow lift. I feel the best use is for all out top end runs.If you could find a good 26/28 off shore cut chopper with some tip cup to try, it may help.

the boat is not light compared to most speedy hulls, weighs roughly 2100lbs. Given what I've read a cleaver would theoretically not be the best choice. But may be worth a spin. If it were easier for me to grab and test I would, but the closest shop with a loaner program and good selection is 3.5 hours away so I'd like some input to get a good idea of what to be trying next. Props like a BRAVO 1 XC, RX-4, or intimidator quad 4 seem to have what I should be testing next if I can get ahold of them. But when the distance is a factor I don't want to drive or ship props more often than I need to.

I ran a 22p 4 blade cleaver on a 21 challenger with a 200 2.4 and loved the prop. Has to be surfaced and it picked the whole boat up and made it run very light for a heavy layup. JMO

Vnemous were you running a standard cleaver or a through hub style?

The thing with props is you just won't know unless you try.

8 mph is not easy it took me 70 hp for 9 more mph IMO over the hub pure top end only way to go just MO

Standard over the hub.

Im thinking a 24 pitch Drag 4.
