I want to see the cockpit video of that...thank heavens for canopies.
Happy Thanksgiving to all as well.
Im sure the restrants left some bruses, but they popped up and kepted going.............. years ago one of the jesse james lavin brothers died in a similar stuff, no canopys one of the them suffered from neck compression and unfortunatly didnt make it, safety has come a long way and guess who was instrumental in the changes that have become the standard today? George Linder...............
That's one well made boat!
To make a boat light and strong has really come of age
The talk was... these boat would shatter when something like that would happen
Time and time again that has been proven to be false.
those guys have the best stuff avalible, they can afford to make anything.....
I am really surprised that they didn't call that race, I have never seen them run in water that big. Glad the windshield flanges stayed in place and did their job-
Joe
Quite a few enthusiastic fellow boat designers have been involved in the capsule development over the years. It improves the odds, but should never be thought of, as a guaranty. Many qualified men were involved in the design & manufacture of the infamous & proven Denver Mullins safety capsules in the 90's. Denver made many of them, and was nationally known as the person who perfected the capsule, at his company "Capsules by Denver". He died at Puddingstone Lake, Ca. in 1992, while in one of his own capsules during a stuff.
.
Happy Thanksgiving
