had the twister out last Thursday and after 1 1/2 hr breakin on rings I went to 5500 rpm for short time
and gps read 86 mph, the boat took a nice set most of the time I cruise at 60ish watchin for pontoons and jet skis

If its rough 55-60 other wise 80 or so.
When I'm alone it 75-80+ because with the family I'm kept to around 60. I'm working on her though :)
100+ why own a hipo motor and not use it ;) besides I love the sound of a 280 at 8k+ rpm :D
Freeway speed feels like a relaxing cruising speed. Above that, in an open boat, it starts to feel like you are going fast...
I agree with Markus. Above 90 in the bass boat and your face tries to beat you to death.
Guess im not as fast as you guys, i typically cruise at 2500 RPM's, depending on the prop, no hurry to get anywhere, with the occasional rip in between.
No old lady or passengers 86 mph it gets 7 mpg at 4500 rpm range of around 200 miles.
With the girl friend 49.9 mph gets 5-6mpg. If u go 50 u get a flip flop to the back of the head
I just finished building a opti for my 23 proline. We put almost 50 miles on it last Sunday and she didn't complain once 28 mph cruise :p I doubt she will ever go on. The race boat again.
I dont really have problem with people wanting to ride in my boat for some reason lol....
In the Scarab, 50mph, 4400rpm cruise gets 1.05mpg.
In the STV, if there are other boats around, about 55-60mph (below the hop). If no other boats around, 85-90 (over the hop and aired out).
