Over the years we've seen many rare and historic boats pass through our Buy and Sell Marketplace, and for the STV enthusiasts, this is one for you.

This beautiful, restored and extremely rare STV tunnel-vee is owned by Jim Kay and is powered by a SportMaster-equipped Mercury Racing 300XS. The design of this hull is very reminiscent of a HydroStream YT, though this boat is larger, being 20-feet. Reportedly, six were produced, and two of those were factory-made stern-drive models.

Two years ago I was on the phone with Diamond Marine's Marty Signorelli and we were talking about some photos I shot of Dennis Vitolo's STV a few years ago. I mentioned that I would like to shoot more and Marty told me Dennis is having a new STV made, and it's going to be a boat with everything Diamond Marine could do to it to make it as perfect an STV as possible.

This feature article was originally published back in 2005 on the old Scream And Fly site. I thought it would be good to re-publish these articles because in addition to being really interesting and useful, this type of material never ages. What was written and shown back in 2005 is just as pertinent as it is today, so I thought I would re-introduce this material to readers that may not have been here back in 2005. This time the article features many more images than the original publication in 2005.

With the 2005 boating season in full swing, most people are busy using, upgrading, and tinkering with their boats. After all, it’s the rite of passage that every high performance boater enjoys and modifying our rides is a key component to this sport. While most of us will perform some of the usual engine rebuilds and modifications, Randy Corson is back in his usual routine – painting and building custom performance boats.

Incredible 1973 All-Original Hydrostream Vector ▼

This all-original 1973 Hydrostream Vector is owned by Tim Dykstra's family, and has owned it since 1978. The boat appears to be entirely original, including the 150HP Mercury. We've seen hundreds - maybe thousands - of Hydrostreams here, but to find one this old and in this condition is fantastically rare. And, if anybody wants it, it's for sale.

Below is the full text of the ad as Tim has it listed. His contact information is below if anybody is interested. But whether or not you might want to buy this boat, I thought you would all enjoy looking at it. I wouldn't expect a Hydrostream like this to come along again anytime soon - if at all.

Outrageous Turbine-Powered Talon 21 Tunnel ▼

We all know that occasionally some pretty spectacular items show up on Ebay, and this turbine-powered Talon 21 has to be one of the more unique and incredible boats that I have seen to show up there.
