Mercury Propellers Introduces Spitfire X7 and Spitfire CT

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Mercury Propellers, the world leader in marine propulsion and technology, has introduced two new SpitFire propellers designed to significantly improve boat performance in the growing 75-115hp outboard class.

SpitFire X7 is the first propeller in the 75-115hp engine class to be marketed with Mercury’s proprietary X7 alloy, which is 30 percent stronger and four times more durable than conventional steel. Using the X7 alloy and building off design elements from the best-in-class aluminum SpitFire, the SpitFire X7 significantly improves acceleration, top speed and holding ability compared to other stainless steel propellers in its class.

“A high-performance propeller is the most cost-efficient way to improve a boater’s experience, and for the 75-115hp outboard class, the SpitFire X7 delivers,” said Jared Reichenberger, brand manager for Mercury Propellers. “With gains of up to 1.5 miles per hour and substantial acceleration improvements versus other stainless propellers, the SpitFire X7 is the new benchmark in performance for midrange outboard engines.” The new SpitFire X7 is available at Mercury dealers in 15-inch, 17-inch, 19-inch and 21-inch pitches.

The new aluminum SpitFire CT also allows boaters to take advantage of the original SpitFire’s performance attributes. The aggressive four-blade design of the SpitFire CT improves acceleration and holding power on pontoons powered by Mercury’s new 90hp and 115hp CT outboards when compared to Mercury’ three-blade aluminum propeller.

“The SpitFire CT provides value by allowing customers to do more with their pontoons,” said Jared Reichenberger, brand manager for Mercury Propellers. “The SpitFire CT will pull a tube more efficiently, enhance holding in tight turns and provide better docking authority.” The SpitFire CT is available at Mercury dealers in 12-inch and 14-inch pitches.
